I’ve been building up a new gravel bike, which is about as far into road bike territory as a mountain biker like me can relate to. Non-boost frame, still uses a traditional skewer to secure the front wheel instead of a thru axle. One thing that threw me a bit was the use of flat-mount brake calipers. I wasn’t even aware a third form of brake caliper mounting existed.
One of the mysteries of bikes are the innumerable “standards”, which is somewhat of a contradictory term considering the growing number of them for any given piece of gear. Seems like the only thing that has remains truly interchangeable across all bikes are the threaded ends on pedals.

Come to Bentonville, Arkansas. Northwest Arkansas is quickly becoming the biking capitol of the US.
There are great trails for all levels.

Rode the Gravel Locos last weekend with the wife 65 miles of Texas gravel roads around Hico Texas. Crossing 3 rivers on foot carrying the bike.
It took us almost 6 hours. The top 10 Pros rode 150 miles and did that in 7 hours. And it rained hard the last hour. Simply amazing.
Gravel riding is my favorite way to cycle. Very few cars, hell you hardly see any houses.
We will ride Hotter than Hell this year but not many other road rides.

We are thinking of going on a trail across Florida. One of our bucket list is to bike through an old railroad tunnel.

Today looks like a good day to ride my bicycle to the beach at the lake. My favorite ride.
Happy International Bicycle Day!

Müggelsee today. They put a wall before the beach because next week they are starting major renovations/construction that will go on for the next two years. I like to listen to
podcasts with my headphones.

Saw incredible wildlife in the woods, park and river today. A brown hawk, a red squirrel, a gray rabbit, geese with many baby geese, swans, ducks. Also the most fish I every seen, at least a thousand small fish in huge schools.
Also a tiger (graffiti art).
Huge tiger in Berlin!
like the old days

I saw 20 large and small rabbits spread out on the grass by the bushes in the park this morning.
There probably were another 20 in the bushes that I didn't see.
I never seen so many rabbits. Not even at the zoo.
