Who is Sandy and how in the world is this “News”?
I’m a Ford Truck guy but have all had engines that start and make noise.
No electric for me.
This guy hasn’t even driven the truck. But wow, he has the Ford Media Kit!
Sandy by the boardwalk on the 4th of July
How long will it last on the road with all the electronic gadgets running plus air plus heater plus stop and go traffic?
prediction: only limited adoption, to whit, < 1/10 cybertruck first year numbers (to be clear, first production cybertruck vs first year Lightning).
why? Although the price is good, they went after the traditional truck buyer, which could not care less about electric/ global warming, etc.
On the other hand, if Biden keeps jacking the price of oil, and it hits 5$ a gallon for gas......
Is this the model with 2 steering wheels? :)
As useful as a Democrat at a job that requires REAL work.
Maybe it's good for stealing elections...
No thanks. The Godzilla engine (I think 7.6L) is a pushrod engine w tons of HP and that’s what I’ll get in my next truck. It comes as a crate engine too.
i’ll stick with my 88 f250 with the fuel injected fuel efficient 460v8...
According to this Sandy guy only the high-end Platinum level is worth considering, and that will set you back $90K. And, this only has a 5-1/2’ truck bed, along with a towing range of 100 mi.
This sounds like a cool toy that the wealthy will want to add to their collection. But Ford is making a huge mistake if it is trying to target the typical working man market.
Lemmesee, under a full load range is ~75 miles. Time to charge when battery is drained ~14 hours. Drive 75 miles, charge 14 hours.
How long would it take to drive cross country pulling a 5th wheeler or a contractor’s trailer loaded with tools and equipment? How about towing a 35’ fishing boat a couple of states over to your favorite lake or river? What if you do not live in the pool table flat middle America?
I’ll consider it when atomic batteries are an option.
Many years ago in the woodworking machinery industry, there was a company that in addition to their corporate name, put “Lightning” on their machines just as Ford has done here.
Not a good idea.
All of the competitors laughed that lightning never struck twice in the same place. And it did not.
Ford stock is a screaming buy.
