BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — The Biden administration announced Tuesday it will consider a ban on new mining on large expanses of public lands in Western states to protect a struggling bird species, the greater sage grouse.

The Interior Department review comes in response to a federal court order and is expected to cover millions of acres of sage brush habitat considered crucial to the bird's long-term survival.

Probably very little we could mine here that we can't buy from our enemies overseas. Friends too.

Sounds like Iowa is headed toward more bear diversity, without even using a diversity plan or a 6-figure salaried official!

“Trump administration ignored prior science on the issue, including a 2017 government study that concluded restrictions on new mining would avoid impacts to hundreds of sage grouse breeding areas.”

Oh brother.

Ban mining?

Where will all the rare earth minerals come from to build our solar panels and batteries?

Maybe Hunter Biden can convince the Chinese to help us?

Lots more land without economic mineralization than with. The sage grouse can just go breed there.

Echoes of the Sagebrush Rebellion can again be heard...

The feds control far, far too much land.

Yet the solar arrays fry thousands of birds of prey, they even have a name for it when one flies into the plasma cloud, “flamers”. And the Obama windmills swatch thousands from the air at near the speed of sound.

Too much competition for Xiden’s Chinese friends. Traitor B Clinton closed rare earth mine for his friends, so Traitor Joe is just following in well-trodden footsteps. We never recovered from that mining closure and won’t from this one either.
