Obama administration scientist slams claims of climate ‘emergency’: Heat waves are 'no more common than they were in 1900'

...“Both research literature and government reports state clearly that heat waves in the US are now no more common than they were in 1900, and that the warmest temperatures in the US have not risen in the past fifty years,” Steven Koonin, the undersecretary for science at the Department of Energy in the Obama administration, wrote in an op-ed on Saturday...

...He said it started in 2013, when he was asked by the American Physical Society to update the organization’s public stance on the changing climate. Over the next year, Koonin said he initiated a workshop to act as a “stress test” for the climate science community.

“I came away from the APS workshop not only surprised, but shaken by the realization that climate science was far less mature than I had supposed,” he wrote....

...Since that discovery seven years ago, Koonin explained that the public narrative about the climate has shifted away from any actual scientific data and is, instead, being driven by alarmist phrases, such as “climate emergency,” “climate crisis,” and “climate disaster.”...

My neighbor asked me yesterday if I think there are more and worse storms down range from big windmill installations. Got me think about ways to research it.

Follow the money.

The temperature records do not go too far back. In few places up to about 250 years, in most places maybe 100 years or even a lot less.
Do you think that Wyatt Earp was waking up every day and before going to shoot, carefully recorded the temperature every day in the same place?

Assuming 100 years of the data, just by statistics, you get 3-4 record heats and 3-4 record colds every year!
With press making big fuzz of each of them, people get the impression, we are living in some extreme time.

But its been the hottest year ever for the last 10 years. Even though the record is broken by 1 or two hundredths of a degree where even the high quality measuring devices are barely accurate to one decimal place

I could take a picture of our coal fired power plants being taking out of service. In the background are several wind turbines not turning, but cycling USING power to keep them from deteriorating at a fast rate The bare ground under them representative of a mass lump of concrete that WILL NEVER BE REMOVED, using up to 1/3rd of the power this tower will ever produce,in producing these towers, and took a large chunk of land from being able to grow plants or trees for several hundred years.

Government sponsored and paid for but the profits go to private individuals.
