Zhang Weili, who lost her UFC strawweight championship to Rose Namajunas at Saturday's UFC 261, was targeted with a chorus of boos from the Florida crowd, apparently for no other reason than she hails from China. The UFC's first fight card to take place in front of a capacity crowd in more than a year was worth the wait. From title changes, to upsets, to stunning one-shot knockouts... and, well, whatever it was that happened to Chris Weidman's leg, but one element from the evening which may have left a bad taste in some fight fans' mouths was the not-so-warm welcome afforded to Zhang.

People that travel out of China don’t just travel. The party still wants them to help them any way the can, and they do. Whether they really want to or not. Family is back there. And China has agents here.

The winner was born in Lithuania (although she lives in the US now), and had said more than a week ago that she wanted to beat Zhang even more because Zhang is from a communist country.
And by today's rules, he's completely entitled to compete.

Crowds for sports like wrestling, boxing and mixed martial arts are known for being blunt and undiplomatic.
If you are too sensitive to a few catcalls, that is not the spectator sport for you to participate in.
I don’t mean she should be harassed with unrelenting thunderous curses, to where it disrupts the event, but a few well placed ‘Boos’ happens in any sport except maybe Golf.

Anyways I didn't think the boos were too bad. Just enough to let her know the score. However when she got KOd by a magnificent kick to the face the crowd did seem a little extra happy about it.
