Herpes infections may be a side effect of a COVID-19 vaccine, experts have revealed.
Scientists in Israel identified six cases in a new study of patients developing a skin rash known as herpes zoster — or shingles — after receiving the Pfizer vaccine, according to a study in the Rheumatology journal.
Herpes zoster starts off as a small, itchy skin rash, but if left untreated, it could cause nerve damage and pain, the Jerusalem Post reported. This can include a prolonged burning sensation on the skin even after the rash disappears.

So they’ve identified 6 cases of shingles in a population where over 5.6 million have been vaccinated? That’s one in a million. What’s the normal background rate for shingles in Israel?

Oh come on now-—this is starting to get “stupid”. Every day I see a report that 6 people had some “side effect”.
6 people pooped after getting the vaccine——6 people had gas after getting the vaccine.
When something serious gets into the thousands then it will be a concern. But come on, hundreds of millions injected and a few hundred people have “side effects”?

So yes, it’s 6 people in their selected population. And what is the normal background rate for that particular group? And can the results be seen among an actually significant number (tens of thousands - not <500) of persons?
I’m not saying it isn’t worth looking into - it is - but rather than it’s not significant or worthy of panic on its own.
I gave 2 relatives who came down with shingles within 2 weeks of getting a flu shot.
Exactly. 894 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines given worldwide including 212 million doses in the United States. If the most we have to worry about is 6 people in Israel getting Shingles, we’re doing pretty darn well.

There is a vaccine for Shingles. But that vaccine causes typhoid. There’s a vaccine for Typhoid, too. But that one causes Yellow Fever. Fortunately there’s a vaccine for Yellow Fever, but it causes tuberculosis...

However, 1 in 82 is just a slight bit different than "one in a million."
