The study I read years ago, said redheads were more sensitive to pain. Especially blue eyed redheads, such as I.

They have no soul.

Speaking from a man who has 2 carrot topped sisters. Both are bat guano cray cray. And experienced dealing with red headed people. They feel no pain, sorrow or remorse..

Haha /s. Not..

LOL

It’s actually from the Welsh side.

I’ve got a golden undertone that just gets deeper in the summer.

Not like a normal tan at all, but at least no sunburns.

:D

Redheads require more anesthesia, bleed more and have higher incidences of recall in surgery.

Noticed two things in life.

Redheaded boys ages 0 to about 10 generally were shy, tearful, upset, difficult to calm.

I don’t know whether auburn hair qualifies but years ago I had surgery for long standing pain. After the surgery the physician came in to apologize because they had no idea how bad the pain was until they examined things in surgery and the path lab.

ROFL! You're not the first person to say that to me and given my penchant for being somewhat shall we say, foolish when it comes to protecting myself you probably won't be the last.

I met my current GF of 3 years two days before I fell and broke my right hand clean off my arm. Our first date was three days later while my hand and arm were in a huge soft cast with my hand looking like the round end of a club.

This story gets better. We went out on our date and when I brought her home she'd forgotten her house keys and was locked out of her home. I stood there helplessly as my now GF climbed up on her roof to locate an open window to get in her home. She succeeeded. I asked her if she always left a window unlocked and she said she did. That was her way of getting into her home when she locked herself out, as she frequently did.

I asked her if she carried her car keys with her, she replied no but she always had her cellphone. Ah ha! So I suggested a blue tooth garage door opener with an app on her phone so she always had a safe way into her home. She agreed, we ordered it and three days later when it arrived I was the one who climbed the ladder (with her holding it) and installed it - one handed - with my left hand. She uses that bluetooth opener and app every day now and we've been together since.

We often laugh about our first date and my penchant for getting injured by doing something stupid. :-)

Redheads require more anesthesia

Having been through a number of surgeries in the past 25'ish years, I've had Anesthesiologists tell me that. Speaking for myself, I know I'm also very sensitive to getting too much anesthesia and before I'm put under I ask to be awoken so I don't panic because of it. I'm very blessed that any time I've had surgery (and I've had more than my share...) I get awoken by a kind recovery room nurse very gently and don't panic as a result. God is so good to me that way.

Nope. Not this one. I was too busy getting picked on for being different and having to fight back. There's good and bad to this. I learned at an early age how to fight back and fight dirty to win. For me getting picked on in what seemed to be daily fights for awhile stopped by about 10 for me. I won some, I lost some but every time the other kid knew they were in a hell of a fight. Eventually getting picked on stopped and I got accepted by the other kids. We played baseball & football together, learned how to box together, explored all that rural Iowa had to offer together. We all also had dads who were smart enough to let us figure it out. "Boys will be boys" right? IMO that's kinda how life works for us redheads.

Looking back, I sure wish the world today was a lot like the world I grew up in. None of this "everyone's special" and participation trophy b.s.

That’s me. Redheaded, blue eyed stepchild here. People are shocked that I tan. The tan always has a red tint to it but I tan really well for a redhead. But then I’ve been a blonde (lol) since I was 18. I always hated my red hair.

Well I’m a Red (medium auburn). Well at least I was 20+ years ago. My whole family on my fathers side was. My Grandmother and all her kin were gingers. So is my sister. Do need more anesthesia. Going to the dentist was always a treat.

My red hair was no guarantee for pain tolerance, but with the exception of very few times, I didn’t burn, nor did I have freckles. But then, my hair was dark auburn.

Do that included brunnettes who bleach/dye their hair?
