Tehran, Iran – Iran has started human trials of Fakhravac, the third domestically developed COVID-19 vaccine, named after nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who was assassinated in late November near Tehran in an attack Tehran blamed on its regional foe Israel.
Authorities at the time had said a team under Fakhrizadeh was working on a vaccine against the coronavirus, which has killed 61,000 people since it broke out in the country in February 2020.
Fakhravac, previously referred to as the “Martyr Fakhrizadeh” vaccine, was unveiled during a ceremony broadcast live on state television. Defence Minister Amir Hatami, Health Minister Saeed Namaki, and Fakhrizadeh’s family attended the event in Tehran.
The first dose was administered to the scientist’s son, Hamed Fakhrizadeh, who volunteered.
“I must say today with pride that in the next spring, the Islamic Republic of Iran will become one of the most important and best vaccine producers in the world,” the health minister said during the ceremony on Tuesday.
A day earlier, the head of Setad, a powerful organisation operating under Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that is in charge of another vaccine project, said the country’s first vaccine production line has begun operation.

You don’t know how legitimate this vaccine is or the others Iran has supposedly produced, but even if just one is legit, what I find interesting is the EU has produced NO vaccine....China has one, Russia has one, the USA has 3, now Iran supposedly has 3, but the EU has ZERO.....
But the EU is supposed to be model of future governance, unelected bureaucrats issuing edicts who fail at the basics of governance...
There are seven different European developed vaccines....of which five of these are still in the developmental stage. Of the five in development stages...the one I’d watch as the next big one is Viravaxx (out of Austria).
A nuclear scientist... was working on a biological vaccine. Uh-huh.
Further proof that this whole thing is politicized?
True but as of this moment when over 100 million vaccines have been dispensed in the USA,UK, Israel, Russia and China the EU has none that are being jabbed into arms
Not so much true....the EU is itself a paper-tiger (I do agree).
But if you gaze around...Germany has 8-percent of the population done on the first vaccination, and 3.7 percent done with the second one. Most of Austria is near the same statistical numbers.
France is near 1.8-million done with both shots.
If you look at Serbia and Malta...both getting near the UK numbers, but it’s mostly based on massive efforts by doctors and nurses.
A lot of this delayed effect is this first month effort that you see (especially in Germany) where they sent the jab-folks out to retirement homes and marginally opened up the city centers for mass jab episodes.
“...what I find interesting is the EU has produced NO vaccine.”
The EU never recovered from the 2008 financial crisis. Since then the EU has lurched from one crisis to the next. By 2025 most of the EU countries except France will age into mass retirement. That means those people will stop producing things that can be sold outside the EU and start consuming their savings and whatever generous socialist retirements they are entitled to. So many loans are in default in the EU that they redefined what “in default” means. That’s rather like dragging the rug over a mess instead of cleaning it up.
In short, the EU can’t afford anything, not even funding life-saving research. Look at the military readiness of Germany. Last I looked they didn’t have a single ship they could deploy. Most of their ships are awaiting drydock space so they can be repaired. A former government head of the military stated that Germany didn’t have the ability to fight even a one week war at full intensity. It’s so rare that the German air force can fly that many of the pilots have quit.
The EU not only has a demographic crisis, a military crisis, but their banking sector is only open because the governments have kept them that way. The longer this situation goes on the harder the fall will be when it comes.
So, no vaccine? The EU is probably looking enviously at what Governor Cuomo did and thinking perhaps a few more deaths would be a good thing.
True but my point could be better clarified the EU despite their size and expertise has so far failed to produce a vaccine that has been approved for public consumption
Can we have Chevy Chase say:
“Martyr. A vaccine with a name like that has got to be good.”
We need not fear Iran encroaching on our marketing industry.
