I have a question for the experts and well-read on the subject of medical privacy. Will providers and insurers be prohibited under HIPAA from disclosing whether or not you have been vaccinated against the Coronavirus? I’m asking because the writing on the wall seems to indicate that one’s “vaccination status” will likely be the next level of Fascism coming after masks. Already, airlines are being queued up to scrutinize the “haves” and “have-nots” for fitness for boarding.
I realize that one of the main reasons for HIPAA’s enactment was to provide cover and its resultant increase in power to a political group most profoundly responsible for AIDS. Therefore, I can see a lot of carve outs being granted for the same political decisions.
HIPAA was only important for sexually transmitted diseases.
I imagine you will be required to self disclose. That should get around HIPPA. If not, then Justice Roberts will decide disclosing is a tax, so it’s allowed.
If I recall there’s a special exemption in the HIPAA laws for pandemics which carves out a limited release of info to authorities if you’re infected by a contagion.
Don’t know if that applies to vaccines or not but there might be a corollary to that.
Maybe I can claim to be a fag. That should give me Carte blanche to get away with medical secrecy.
HIPAA also doesn’t apply to other countries, which, unlike the United States, has requirements for entry and refuse whoever they wish. If they want you to prove you’re vaccinated before entering, you sure as heck will need to prove it.
I think the BIG FIGHT will be regarding domestic travel. Can airlines refuse to board you if not vaccinated? Can TSA block you if you’re not vaccinated? There will be a lot of fireworks on that, but given the government we now have (thanks again, Lin Wood), people on the freedom side of the debate will likely lose.

Of course infection should be a concern on common carriers; I’m not opposing that. But the new precedent set with this new scamdemic is that the UNinfected are now the suspects, much more so than those diagnosed.
I fail to understand how Lin Wood is somehow culpable.
Handing the Senate to the Democrats, when that was our last hope of stopping all this crap...although, I agree, his ‘ingenious’ move probably makes no difference here. But since I hadn’t mentioned it today in my other postings, I was overdue and so mentioned it here.

Your beef is with Trump going out there, TWICE, to implore the Republicans to vote in the Runoff. Obviously Trump thought the elections were still winnable.

You are exactly correct, to a point. I had to pay for my medical records, which is no different than a “poll tax.”
