Though unapologetically progressive, the 53-year-old former lawyer never shrinks from fighting with the left. A week before the 2020 election, he quit The Intercept, the online news organization he co-founded in 2014, because, by his own account, it refused to run a story unless he "remove[d] all sections critical of" Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. Denouncing what he called "the pathologies, illiberalism, and repressive mentality" that led him to be "censored" by his own media outlet, Greenwald railed that "these are the viruses that have contaminated virtually every mainstream center-left political organization, academic institution, and newsroom."

Warrning! Once you become involved in the discussion, you may not want to stop and it is ONE HOUR AND THIRTEEN MINUTES LONG.
Somewhere way out on the horizon is a point where the left and the right intersect and Greenwald is there.
Well worth the time.

Glenn Greenwald might be the last lib with any honesty or principles. Certainly one of the last of a dying breed.
Reminiscent of the late Christopher Hitchens.
Jimmy Dore too. He really hammers Pelosi a lot. Hitchens was a terrific journalist.
If I were Molly Ball, I would be paying someone to turn on my car for me going forward.
Surprised not to hear from Camille Paglia lately.
Glenn Greenwald, Matt Taibbi, Tim Pool and Joe Rogan. Been fun watching their transformation.
Matt Taibbi?
Interesting listen, but he has a lot of self-examining to do. A lot of his opinion is just nonsense.
Yeah, he’s not too bad. As another poster pointed out, Jimmy Dore also has his moments. I’ll add Tulsi Gabbard to the list, too. There are not many.
Yeah, they are all left of center politically, but principled, consistent and capable of holding a rational discussion on the issues.
Greenwald is excellent. I am sure we would disagree on the majority of political positions, but as it relates to authoritarian tendencies (both among the right e.g. GWB and the left) he really nails it.
Pls note, I’m not trolling, just looking a bit deeper.
If you could please give an example or two?
Yes, it is a long and wondering conversation.
With the cold weather here, looking to have time for a second listening, and I will take notes.
Anything you might recall would be helpful.
Thank you.

Yes
I think his leftist bias crops up repeatedly. Fox News started as ‘fair & balanced’ - far more than any of the other media. They ALWAYS had opposite views, although the format with most shows only amounted to left & right screaming their favorite talking points at each other.
The other one was how Bush was so authoritarian. Something that Glenn Beck said has stuck with me over the years. He was called to the WH after criticizing something Bush did. Bush essentially told him that ANYONE in the WH, whether D or R, would do the same thing because they would be receiving the same advice from the (ha ha) experts in the CIA/NSA/etc., etc....
Greenwald just needs to examine why he thinks the way he does. He takes too much for granted based on his own bias.
Sorry I didn’t respond more quickly. Had to be off the computer for a while.
Thank you for taking the time for a thoughtful reply.
Yes, he is of the far left, no doubt, yet not afraid to admit to shortcomings/errors of his party.
“ANYONE in the WH, whether D or R, would do the same thing because they would be receiving the same advice from the (ha ha) experts in the CIA/NSA/etc., etc....”
That says quite a bit.
Now plain to see that the advisers are following massively inbred thinking.
Well, they have been there forever.
Thanks
