Those who insist on governing us have spent decades shaking and shaking the world's largest can of carbonated Coke, and now they expect it somehow not to explode....
A friend of American Thinker, understandably upset about the unraveling of America around us, reached out with a heartfelt question: how did we as a society come to behave so acrimoniously toward one another?
The two words that stood out to me while turning this question over in my mind were "we" and "society." Who "we" are as Americans has changed radically over the last half-century, and during that time, the political sphere in America has eaten away and destroyed the independence of the civic sphere we traditionally call "society."
Consider these facts:
1. Before Ted Kennedy's 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act, nine tenths of all new immigrants to America came from Europe; after the act's passage, nine tenths of new immigrants have come from Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
2. Since the 1965 Act's passage, over sixty million new immigrants have arrived in the United States, and over a hundred million more are expected over the next half century.
3. In 1970, 4.7% of the American population was born outside of the United States; in 2017, 13.7% of the national population was born in a foreign country.
These are obviously transformative demographic shifts. In an open society unafraid of debate, we would weigh the benefits of these changes against the dangers they present to national cohesion and stability. Instead, and no doubt because Kennedy's immigration law has done more to stave off death for the Democratic Party than any other variable over the last half-century, America's political and business elites have weaponized censorship and political correctness to portray even the mentioning of unchecked immigration's harms as something taboo.

2. Our prosperity is largely the result of hard work & innovation. But public schools today are teaching kids that "exploitation" and "past injustice" are the main drivers of how wealth is distributed. This difference in views is causing the continued political, cultural and emotional divide in America. :(

What we all aren’t supposed to focus on the selling of American Congressional Legislation
THE issue that binds Red and Blue together in the UniParty is the issue of electoral fraud.
Its why certain precincts have voted Red or Blue for over 100 years. Its the means by which Congress and K St lobbyists can guarantee “product delivery” to interests that pay enough.
Various “intelligence agencies” are the enforcement arm. Prolly different ones (there are 17 of them afterall!) supporting different “service lines”
Its mutually assured destruction if either side starts to betray the long-standing inter-generational process.
Whenever the issue starts to bubble too close to the surface
we all start getting entertained with “pizza parties” and “SRA” issues-and other Red-Blue “trigger issues”-but these are only incidental to the business at hand-the selling of the votes and legislation of the most powerful legislative body in the world.
The “trigger issues” are intended to remove our eyes from what is going on right before our very eyes!
The contemporary information-digital communications technology has the ability to put an end to all of this -which is why the “information war” on the American electorate. Why “us” versus “them” is finally crystalizing.
Its why they built a fence around Capitol Hill
This is the greatest threat to the state: private associations among citizens, ranging from families to churches to harmless local recreational clubs, choirs, etc. Even the places where people gather privately, such as restaurants and bars, are threats to the state.
This is precisely why they were targeted by the leftist state behind the lockdowns and shutdowns, and why the leftists don’t want to let these things end now. They have crushed private society and cut off communication between people, leaving us all now isolated individuals totally at the mercy of the state and totally reliant on it.
Big Brother’s ultimate goal.
