SHHHHH: GOP could take the House (vanity)
Vanity (with cnn results) ^ | 12/01/2020 | OrangeHoof

OK. The Democrats stole the presidency. They're doing everything possible to steal the Senate. But they were apparently confident that they would win the House without tomfoolery as it appears from this graphic:

https://edition.cnn.com/election/2020/results/house

that the GOP will fall just five House votes short of a majority. Although CNN shows a 222-209 margin, the four "undecided seats are all either won or will be won by Republicans so it's really 222-213. 218 is needed to have a majority.

What might it take to get five Democrats to switch parties? Remember Jeff Van Drew (NJ) switched sides and still won re-election. Had she run again and won, I could see Tulsi Gabbard (HI) as a potential party switch after the way she was mistreated.

How much might it take to get five to switch? Promise them committee seats in the new House? Promise them a place among committee chairmanships? Promise them passage of a favorite piece of legislation?

Surely some of them won in districts where Trump won handily. Maybe we could offer them a Trump rally when they run for re-election.

As a Republican, the media sees you as a hero when you disagree with party leadership. As a Democrat, you are gagged and shunned.

As a last resort, perhaps some campaign cash can be transacted.

Confidentiality would need to be maintained and nobody's name should be leaked but it just takes five and the Deep State plans of a full government takeover are torpedoed. Liberal heads would explode (again)!

Stranger things have happened. Someone should start making a few phone calls if they haven't started already. Imagine a rear attack that dethrones Queen Nancy!

Doesn’t do the general public any good, they’re all mostly corrupt. Or, with today’s terminology, mostly honest.

Not likely to happen; most of the potential party switchers in the House were the so-called “moderate” Dems who went down to defeat. There aren’t many versions of the Blue Dogs left in the Pelosi caucus.

Tomfoolery? Is that how you’re actually describing this theft?

There is fraud in house seats that is disputed in the courts right now... i.e. Sean Parnell in Pennsylvania.

Could flip another from blue to red.

In 2002 the Georgia state senate changed parties for the first time to GOP exactly like this. It could very well work.

The media combined with voter fraud, is the double wammy.
Few national heroes exist in politics.

If you’ve already surrendered the presidency, why would anybody listen to your council on any other election?

************

If they’re not corrupt when they get elected they soon will be. The Swamp is a very corrosive environment and its political machinery quickly turns good people into ‘pliable’ ones. That is an indisputable fact and there’s even a term for it: Potomac Fever. Contracting this ‘disease’ causes people infected with it to start representing DC instead of the folks back home who elected them.

Tulsi Gabbard seems more Libertarian than Rat. At minimum she should become Independent.

I agree, “Tomfoolery” was a less than optimal choice of words.

This has the potential to kick off a civil war.

I also disagree with “OK. The Democrats stole the Presidency.” too. That is not a done deal.

I feel like adding “Besides that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?”

She won’t be in Congress, didn’t run for reelection.

I was already counting the LA runoff (between 2 Repubs), the CA race, the Iowa race (won by 6 votes) and the NY race to get within 5 seats.
