Somehow, I had never thought about the fact that Lincoln was President, and Victoria was Queen, at the same moment in history.

Also quite remarkable that 84 years after the British Army had forcefully occupied New York City, and just 46 years after the same Army burned down the White House, crowds of cheering Americans greeted the Prince of Wales!
