Scoop of vanilla ice cream in a half cantaloupe. The best.

BEST melon I ever had was in Mazaar-i-Sharif Afghanistan while meeting with the mayor and/or governor.
It was almost pumpkin-sized and was pure white with dark green blotches. It tasted like ice cream, only far better. I was told the skin was too delicate for shipping so it was only sold locally.

Getting sick from the melons was my experience. My doctor said I got E. coli. Melons like cantaloupe, with their rough skins, need to be washed with dish detergent, a scrub brush and a thorough rinse. That way, when you cut them open, no contamination is carried by the knife to the inside.

For a while it seemed like every other weekend show on a local radio station was an infomercial for cleaning out your colon.
I remember a gastroenterologist who was talking about it said for most people with a laxative in prep for a colonoscopy the colon was nice and clean and he had pictures to prove it. Probably for that reason the "poisoned clogged colon" ads switched to the small intestine for a while.
I don't know how many times I heard about John Wayne's colon in those ads.

Would a warm banana nut muffin slathered in melted butter and a glass of cold milk qualify as a fruit colon cleanse?

When I was a kid, I went to visit my aunt and uncle in TX.
I had never in my life seen a honeydew melon.
They served me that with ice cream and I thought I was in heaven.

Glad you didn’t say that you used a banana for a cleansing instead of a muffin.

Tonight I'm making a nice roast beef with baked potatoes and breaded fresh string beans. Chocolate cake and coffee for desert.
I would never consider being a vegan. Rabbits are vegans. I'm not a rabbit.

What I learn from eating the same thing five days in a row, is that by the end of the second day, I never want to see it again.

I always salt watermelon and canteloupe. Never considered pepper, but I might give it a shake or two!
