Astronomy Picture of the Day - Solar Cycle 25 Has Begun

Explanation: The general trend of monthly sunspot data now confirms that the minimum of the approximately 11 year cycle of solar activity occurred in December 2019, marking the start of Solar Cycle 25. That quiet Sun, at minimum activity, appears on the right of this split hemispherical view. In contrast, the left side shows the active Sun at the recognized maximum of Solar Cycle 24, captured in April 2014. The extreme ultraviolet images from the orbiting Solar Dynamics Observatory highlight coronal loops and active regions in the light of highly ionized iron atoms. Driving the space weather around our fair planet, Solar Cycle 24 was a relatively calm one and predictions are that cycle 25 will be calm too. The cycle 25 activity maximum is expected in July 2025. Solar Cycle 1, the first solar cycle determined from early records of sunspot data, is considered to begin with a minimum in February 1755.

Are there any photos of this area?

Zeta Reticuli, where it's believed is where the Greys are from.

The democRATs won’t admit that the sun influences the temperature on Earth. Just wait until the sun goes all supernova. That will show them. Yes it will.

Zeta Reticuli, where it's believed is where the Greys are from.

Why there and what do the red lines indicate?

Nevermind - found it. This is where Betty and Barney Hill are supposed to have been taken to even though there are no planets that orbit those stars and their story was BS anyway.

Our sun won't go super nova, but it is a recurrent micronova star.

Invest a little over an hour to get a taste of the evidence...

I believe that star map was taken from The Interrupted Journey, a book about the purported Barney and Betty Hill abduction. A pretty interesting read.

Yes. The incident supposedly happened about an hour drive northwest from where I live.

I do believe they believed something happened. They would have nothing to gain in the late 1960s to come out with such a story. He being black and she being white in those days was not well accepted and because of that they were a low key couple.

In the 1970s a sheriff in Oxford County which is maybe 30 or 40 minutes from that area it was reported in the paper that he was driving down a dirt road, saw lights in the sky, his police car and electronics went our and his car was hovering - all went black- he woke up in the car - lost time.

My father knew him before the incident. Always seemed like a very stable and intelligent man.

I think it was reported as an abduction.

Personally I never experienced anything like that or ever seen anything strange in the sky.

Back in the late 80s my brother and his wife had lights follow them quite a ways from Denmark, Maine (near the border of New hampshire) maybe 30 minutes from that Betty Barney Hill incident. His wife was crying she was so scared.

I’m still skeptical. I wasn’t there so I don’t want to judge them. It’s easy for me to say maybe it was a star.

Perhaps, but it’s a pot made from a lot of evidence.

We have Nova generated isotopes on earth and from lunar rock samples, that simply couldn’t have survived the travel time from a distant nova due to their relatively short half lives.

I’m going out on a limb here, but I bet you didn’t watch an hour and a quarter video in the 10 minutes you took to respond to my post.

Give it an honest look and get back to me, m’kay?
