On Aug. 29, Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe informed congressional leaders that they would no longer get in-person briefings on election security because of “… unauthorized disclosures of sensitive information.” Their briefings, he said, would be limited to written, finished intelligence products.
The following day, Mr. Ratcliffe explained to a television interviewer, “Within minutes of one of those briefings ending, a number of members of Congress went to a number of different outlets and leaked classified information for political purposes.” He added that his intention was to stop “a pandemic of information being leaked out of the intelligence community.”
The Democrats’ reaction was intense. Despite the fact that written briefings can be leaked as just as easily as oral ones, Rep. Adam Schiff, chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), threatened to subpoena Mr. Ratcliffe and force him to testify. Mr. Schiff said that live testimony “forces accountability” and that, “When you can hide behind documents or withhold documents and not have to answer questions about it, it lets you conceal the truth.”
It is enormously amusing to hear Mr. Schiff arguing for accountability and truth considering his performance over the past three-and-a-half years.
Before 2019, when Mr. Schiff became HPSCI chairman, his predecessor, Rep. Devin Nunes, used the power of the committee to investigate the FBI-CIA spying on President Trump’s campaign. Mr. Schiff fought tooth and nail to prevent disclosure of information Mr. Nunes was developing while a flood of anti-Trump “Russia collusion” leaks to the media came from either Mr. Schiff, his staff or other Democrats. When Mr. Schiff took the role of HPSCI chairman, the leaks increased.

Side Bar Information: After the terrible & disgusting campaign performance by Democrat Candidate running for POTUS in 2020, Joe Biden, in Florida yesterday at two campaign stops, with a hand full of Veterans (6) and about a dozen Hispanics present, The Democrat Party would be wise to get this fool, buffoon out of the running for POTUS.
Actually, both Democrat candidates for POTUS and VP (Kamala Harris), have not one ounce of electric MoJo that inspires anyone....period. Both are drastically boring from A-Z!!! I have been following political campaigns beginning with Truman/Dewey in 1948 and, I have never seen a campaign that has no or, very few supporters present at campaign rallies!!! Go figure!!! Dump these two losers right now Democrats...period!!!

They can’t. In many states the deadline for changing the candidate(s) has legally passed. So if they try to change it the candidate is disqualified. They would be left with write in for Harris, also not allowed in some states, or getting several judges to rule that they can proceed.

I have read about the laws and regulations governing the protection of classified information by government and contractor personnel. These laws and regulations state specific incarceration and financial penalties, and loss of employment as a result of negligent or intentional disclosure or failure to protect this kind of onformation.
Why isn’t Mr. Schiff and his cronies liable when they do this?
Remember the guy who spent a year in jail because he took a selfie on a submarine?
Why the unequal application of the law and regulation?
Why would you want them to do that?

Bolton is currently in the middle of a legal battle with the Justice Department pertaining to the release of his June 2020 book that government attorneys argue was not properly vetted and revealed classified information in breach of Bolton’s job contract.
If multiple people get the classified document it is very hard to find out who leaked it unless the recipient testifies who gave it, there is some identifying info in the document (such as a serial number or slightly different copies given to each person) or you catch him in the act. Did Schiff give it? Did another representative? Did a member of any if their staffs? How can you tell?
Unlike other elections, you are voting for electors. If Biden drops out or is determined by the DNC to be no longer the real candidate, the electors can vote for someone else. There might be problems with faithless elector laws if he is still alive, but no one has been punished for not voting as directed.
I hear echoes of Nancy Pelosi’s comment about Obamacare — You have to pass the bill to know what’s in the bill.
If Joe has a health emergency, voters can still vote for Democrat Electors — but who will be president? No one will know. They’d have to win the election in order to find out who they voted for.
