Potentially good news.

Batteries have for SOOO long have had a poor “Moores’s Law” trajectory.

Batteries vs. Capacitors....

Unless the batteries are interchangeable between vehicle brands much like gasoline goes in any car I don’t think electric is the way...just my 2 cent.

There was an article a couple of days ago about batteries that are self charging made from processed nuclear waste.

The Electrons are the same [as gas/Diesel are], but the battery gas tank geometry and chemistry can be very different. A “battery” is not just a vast, empty, enclosed space, -unfortunately.

Maybe he should consider where all of this electricity is coming from, and use some of the big brain he hires to make small safe nuclear reactors. I know he has married women and super models to chase but I would think he could fit it in between spacex launches, tesla announcements and audultery.

I think what Musk wants is not more range, but to substantially lighten the curb (kerb) weight of Tesla's EV's. That will make it easier to incorporate better suspension designs for better ride and handling.

Rather than post a new topic -- it was Battery Day at last, virtual shareholder meeting, original is over three hours I think, this boils it down. Try a search on "Battery Day in 14 minutes" for many more such.

The theme was greatly increasing productivity and greatly reducing costs so that Tesla can take over the world.

$25,000 car in 3 years.
Larger tabless cells integrated into the car instead of a separate pack.

I was surprised at the estimate of how much the production line will shrink in terms of plant footprint, that could (not necessarily would) mean battery plants going in rubblefields/tax holiday sites up here in the rust belt.

The only way Tesla can live up to the lofty market cap now assigned, is if the US Govt forces the cars upon us.

Otherwise, as a stand alone operation, there isn’t enough resources and sales opportunity or available electricity to create vehicle numbers high enough to justify the stock price.

Nash, DeLorean, Tesla...
