Will a wrongful death lawsuit be filed by families of two dead men? Against Mr. Kyle Rittenhouse?
I think that families could file a civil lawsuit no matter what happens during the criminal trial...
How much would a 17 year old have in his bank account? So the families would try to go after assets of Mr. Kyle's parents?
Lin Wood said (earlier today) that Kyle doesn’t have to worry about legal counsel. If that means representation by Lin Wood and/or his firm, Kyle doesn’t have to worry about “frivolous” suits from families of the dead.
But that's just me.
Good luck. There is clear video evidence that each of those shot were attacking him. It’s clear that if he would not have defended himself, he would be dead. Add to that the criminal record of each of the attackers would be brought out in a civil suit.
Self-defense is not “wrongful death.”

You have outlined the hypocrisy of the state.
Kyle will be an adult in criminal court but a minor in civil court.
Did they agree to represent him or to cover any settlements?
The difference could be enormous.
Here’s the exchange: If it is found he used self defense, he gets to sue the dead guys.
I don’t envy his position but I certainly think he had more courage than me in facing a domestic enemy who is destroying our cities.
I won’t read your mind but I’m guessing you think what he did wasn’t too bright or was wrong.
I live only miles away from manhattan and brooklyn and no kidding, I don’t care if they burn to the ground.
But you come to the south shore of staten island with that garbage and you should call your mom and say you’re never coming home.
precisely after Linn Wood is done with Kenosha, the kid is going to be worth several million.
A wrongful death suit can absoltuley be brought against Rittenhouse, however it would be up to the court to decide if it had merit for it to be heard, and even then, for the jury to decide upon the evidence if the defendant is guilty. I think the evidence is clear that Rittenhouse is not guilty of wrongful death since his actions were a result of self defense. I am sure the plaintiff will argue wrongful intent based on the fact that Rittenhouse crossed state lines to the scene of the riot, however that doesn’t change the fact of the course of events. Rittenhouse was assaulted first with a deadly weapon and a reasonable person would enter into a fight or flight decision. Rittenhouse attempted flight, and only when cornered did he fight.

Anyone can file a frivolous lawsuit and the families of the dead perps can do that but will certainly not succeed. This is why WE NEED LOSER PAYS LEGISLATION NATIONALLY.
On the gun charge, seems the state will charge Kyle as an adult for being a minor in possession of an adult weapon. Convoluted.
Grow up. That is not what lawyers do.
The lawyer is salivating over the opportunity to represent Rittenhouse.
This case is so bad, it may represent a opportunity to sue for Wrongful Prosecution; or under the wrongful conduct civil rights statutes.
It smells a lot like the real story behind the persecution of General Flynn.
I’m sorry, but if our legal system can’t see that a wrongful death suit is just a form of double-jeopardy then we are hosed. And triple jeopardy if they make a federal claim that his first amendment rights were denied because he can no longer speak.
Apparently, Lin believes that Kyle's defense is one of self-defense. Lin probably believes that a suit by the family of the dead men who were threatening to kill Kyle (they were armed and had criminal records and were engaged in illegal activity at the time) would be thrown out by the judge.
Put me on the jury. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOt Guilty!

Just bid your time, don’t say anything, don’t make waves, stay in the shadows, stock up. When the right time comes you will know it and you WILL have the courage.
