A pregnant woman shot Friday night inside a home in Columbia has died, according to Howard County Police. Her baby was delivered but is in critical condition.
County police reported Saturday morning that officers responded to the 6600 block of Dovecote Drive for a report of several shots fired about 11 p.m. Friday. The police said multiple bullets were fired into the residence from the outside, and one of the rounds struck Rabiah Ahmad, who was 30.

There is a whole lot of “moved from Baltimore City” going on in parts of Howard County where this happened. A lot of Baltimore ‘tudes were brought along with these “delightful” new residents. I feel sorry for parents who have kids in what used to be known as superb Howard County public schools. Those days are slip-sliding away.
I lived in Columbia for twelve years. When I left in 2012, I had not heard that the Dovecote Lane area was high crime. Unless things have changed greatly in the past eight years, this may be a targeted shoot-’em-up.
