Consumer goods company Unilever said on Thursday that demand for personal care items have slumped. The company, which owns brands such as Dove soap and Axe deodorant, said that the lockdowns have led to the decline in sales.
It hasn't been all bad for Unilever, though. The company owns ice cream brands such as Breyer's, Ben & Jerry's and Magnum, and ice cream sales at home are up as people consume more food at home.

Not mine...I weigh myself every day to make sure I'm within my range.
I can’t believe you said that. I just weighed myself :-)
Only about 10 pounds heavier since this whole thing started in March. But only is a lot since I need to lose a bunch.
And the problem is I’m hungry :-)
The one thing that always got me, joked many times with the wife about it on FaceTime, was the fact there were absolutely no cleaners in the stores. Except bathroom and toilet cleaners, they were plentiful...as if nobody ever cleans their home toilets!
We’ve been locked down for months.
Is it okay with you if we laugh?
Cocaine, Tab, and Marlboro Lights.
Who is responsible for us being in lockdown? Inflicting pain on us? Start pushing back.
Me? Gov. Wolf, and I am.
Can I laugh now?
Her: I think the covid virus is making me look fat. What do you think?
Him: I think your fat is making you look fat.
Time of death: 2 pm
Cause of death: covid
Very pitiful, right? We are cattle. Give us our icecream to fatten us up and we will be happy. We wont realize that we are being set up for slaughter.
My company does weekly webinars. I’ve noticed a handful of folks have majorly gained weight since this scamdemic started.
Ice cream, cookies, candy, cakes...
Lol
Not the advice I expected on Free Republic but it sounds like it will work :-)
I was doing great with the COVID thing until I went back to work/church. I hit 50 lb. lost goal during the shutdown.
Now I am stress eating. I was better off being away from people.
I feel your pain.
As a person who’s previous job was to sell ice cream(Haagen Dazs), I can assure you the only thing I was concerned about fattening up was my bank account. I worked for commission.
Good for you. The American way. Or the way America used to be.
Just want to make Indian H1Bs feel at home. Wearing deodorant or anti-perspirant is against their culture. Welcome to the combination of crap, body odor, smoke and bad breath. Just like India.
Yup. Too many people are getting used to masks. I mean to the point where it is discussed and worn as a fashion accessory. Not too long ago, I was in a bank. Masks mandatory. The string around my ear broke, the teller moved faster than Joe Morgan in his prime stealing second base. She handed me a mask. Would any of us ever thought just a few months ago where a bank teller would hand a customer a mask while dishing out capital?
My kids have been hiking and biking to stay active, because they wanted to go to Philmont. That’s canceled. So are UIL sports for our region.
What is funny is how often they’re the only ones out, though a few other kids are bike riding or walking as a family. Someone yelled at my youngest for riding his bike alone down the street a mile. I thought it was because he wasn’t wearing a helmet. No, the Karen was mad he wasn’t wearing a face mask.
A kid alone on the side the street on a bike IS social distancing. And when he has gone on 2 mile trail rides, he has often been alone unless with a sibling or rare friend.
It’s way past time to tell these Karens to mind their own damn business.
Your kids should do likewise.
