My kids have been hiking and biking to stay active, because they wanted to go to Philmont. That’s canceled. So are UIL sports for our region.
What is funny is how often they’re the only ones out, though a few other kids are bike riding or walking as a family. Someone yelled at my youngest for riding his bike alone down the street a mile. I thought it was because he wasn’t wearing a helmet. No, the Karen was mad he wasn’t wearing a face mask.
A kid alone on the side the street on a bike IS social distancing. And when he has gone on 2 mile trail rides, he has often been alone unless with a sibling or rare friend.
It’s way past time to tell these Karens to mind their own damn business.
Your kids should do likewise.
UIL volleyball is scheduled to start up in late September. I usually make about $7,500 over 3 months reffing H.S. volleyball in the fall. Missed almost all of the club season this year, which is about $4,500. Fortunately, we don’t depend on the money for living expenses. My wife and I are both retired and we are saving a little over $1,000/month. We aren’t rich, but live comfortably. Eat out 1-2 times per week and we increased our tipping from 22% to 30%.
