Bingo...You have made an excellent point. President Eisenhower federalized the Arkansas National Guard ; and IIRC, sent the 101st Airborne Division to Little Rock to show Gov. Faubus that he meant business. Actually, I'm not that upset over the hurt being inflicted on those bastions of Rat power, but there is no question of the president's powers in this regard.
