Napoleon Lajoie arrived in Cleveland on June 4 and was an immediate hit, drawing 10,000 fans to League Park. Soon afterward, he was named team captain, and in 1903 the team was renamed the Cleveland Napoleons (soon shortened to Naps) after a newspaper conducted a write-in contest.

Their Negro League team was named the Cleveland Buckeyes, and it’s the state symbol. If they change from Indians — which I hope tehy don’t — that might be a good choice.

Since there is such a racial divide coursing thru our country shouldn’t we take the time to re-examine the underpinnings of the solutions we offer?
The largest minority now is not Black, it’s Hispanic. I propose that we change the process for treatment of minorities by encouraging 50% of all company Heads of Diversity at Fortune 500 counties be Hispanic, the rest, Black, White or Polka Dot.
In major league baseball, instead of mandatory interviews for Blacks only, mandatory interviews of Hispanics should be added. This will ensure a better representation of Hispanic Managers. After all, there are more Hispanic players than Black players in MLB.
