The group Americans for Responsible Technology declares 5G to be unsafe. This fringe anti-technology movement is gaining momentum, thanks to activists, their accomplices in the media, and Russian propaganda outlets like RT.

I am a computer systems engineer- but I know absolutely nothing about 5G and why people are so afraid of it.
The big concern I have is that it was being advanced with Chinese technology. If anyone is going to be the leader in 5G I do not want it to be China (unless you want every bit of information stolen)

I think the jury is still out on this one. The fears may be unfounded, or we just may be opening up yet another source of pain & misery. No one really knows, there are many scientists & doctors who are concerned. Doesn't make them right, but do we know they aren't right? 8>)
I personally do not care as I am on the down slope, and considering my lifestyle choices, smoking etc., it probably is a short slope. 8>)
My point is, comparing them to flatearthers is probably not justified or even anywhere near to being an accurate comparison at all.

Microwave radiation cannot be carcinogenic or mutagenic as energy deposition is at energy levels well below that which case ionization. Any potential damage would actually have to be due to local heating, and with field intensities of milliwatts/cm2, local heating is much less than direct sunlight.
Many “scientists” also believe in climate change. There are scientists, and then there are “scientists”.
There will no stopping 5G, because people want their new, fancy technology. They have no problem harassing some company about a bogus threat from a 5-part-per-billion chemical in a product they use, but you could say cell phones will change you into a newt, and they will ignore it.

Completely agree! I don't care how cheap the Chinese brand is with their 5G tech. In fact, the cheaper they are, the less I want anything to do with it. Ban it nationally! Ban it throughout Europe! Nobody should be using their stuff.

Most of the sub-6 GHz bands are not much different than current 4G/LTE technology or wifi. The biggest difference is that the higher frequencies in that range will not reach as far.
If you are going to worry, it's the millimeter wave (K and Ka band) 5G. These bands do not propagate far at all and will require loads of cells, including indoors. I don't see it having much of a role out in the country. With lots of cells, it give the carriers location tracking abilities not feasible today. If you walk up 5th Ave in NYC (provided there is reason to do so once 5G is deployed), a carrier could track your progress and what stores you likely walked into. If it's a big place like Macy's (provided it still exists), the carrier could track you moving from floor to floor.
I don't think the 5G crazies know much of this.
Yeah it is kind of like standing next to microwave oven with the door removed. It has less power, but over time the end result is the same.(5G lower band = microwave oven)

5G is also the tech that ultimately allows the citizens of the entire world to be tracked and monitored at a grand scale that would even make George Orwell blush. It creates an entire world run by digital wireless signal. Because it massively increases the capacity to do so. And that is why governments are so giddy about it.
There’s a reduction of risk of spread if you happen to be infected and near other people indoors. Doesn’t do much of anything outdoors and doesn’t do much of anything if people aren’t nearby. I think that if the mask guidelines were more specific and based on what the science is actually saying, people would be more apt to go along with it.
People wore masks during the 1918 Spanish Flu. Suddenly now it’s the end of America if we wear a mask to reduce the spread of a contagious disease. I don’t recall America ending after 1918...
The tracking is already there anyway with GPS in your phone. That data’s being reported out constantly. No reason the provider couldn’t be grabbing that all day.
Just another reason why the phones and the providers should be separated like they are in Europe and most of the rest of the world. In places outside the US, you get your own phone. Then you connect it with whatever provider you want. They don’t get to load it up with their own software.
