Loser skel pulled this on two cops who ID'd him from an earlier crime (good videos at the link).
I'm not knowledgeable enough to tell if this is a single action Rossi-type replica, or maybe even a cap and ball replica?

It appears to be a replica of a cap-n-ball conversion to cartridge. Odd.

It appears to be a cap & ball that was converted to fire cartridges.

Possibly an 1851 Navy Conversion reproduction.

Looks pretty close to a Wells Fargo model Uberti .31 caliber, 5-shot revolver. Fully functioning revolver, as delivered.

Seems like a modified 1858 black powder revolver replica.

I remember seeing a youtube video by a felon, explaining to other ex-cons how they could defend themselves legally. He said they carry cap and ball revolvers because they aren’t actual handguns under the law, and they aren’t legally prevented from owning them. I am not sure I want to take legal advice from a dude who looks like he is wearing a shirt when he is shirtless, but it might be why this guy was carrying this.

I saw that, too. Don’t know if it’s still posted. Might take a look.

Again, I own one. This is a ‘51 Navy conversion with a 5” barrel, wood grips, and converted to chamber .38 brass, hence the loading gate and ejector rod. These are illegal in Kalifornia, but not the cap and ball version. Mine is a 7 1/2” in .36 with the same cylinder and grips. Fun and ergonomic for it’s day. Man, I love how it fits in my palm.

The whole cap and ball loophole thing is mildly interesting to me, but living in a free section of the country, Ive never had to explore it seriously.

I like your terminology. So do I. Masks are worn only at Walmarts and some medical facilities. We have complete movement freedom throughout the state.

A quick heads-up. I assuming at one time or another, you may have caught on Television the show "Pawn Star's." Rick, the owner doesn't have a "Federal Firearms License." yet, in MANY a show, he buy's a fire-arm. How can he do that?
Simple, he will only buy & sell anything prior to I believe very late 1800's, or up to VERY earl 1900's. (I looked it up, the magic date is "1898.") Congress made the law's, and anything prior to said DATE, is not considered a fire-arm,(their considered "antique's") anything after said DATE, get ready for the paper-work.
In case you never followed "Pawn Star's," Rick basically is lazy, not to mention why have Uncle SAM looking over your shoulder every day, on every transaction. Rick does purchase a LOT of GUN's (antique pistol's & rifle's) and a Cannon here and there.
