Exactly.... the small farmer has pretty much been overrun by mega-corps.
It is an industry like any other. You run it efficiently and at large scale you can make money. 40 acres and a mule just wont make it. Nor will a patchwork of small fields.
The article compares 1920 with today. There was a major Depression in between that made a lot of people lose their land, probably hit Blacks the worst. It was nobodys fault, not racist. But should not be ignored.
