Lizard people has a basis in CIA channeling sessions using hallucenigens. Multiple subjects got in touch with spirits that appeared as reptilians or insects.

Two added benefits of having as many people as possible wearing a mask.
1) Nobody figures out you are listening to a recorded Biden speech, cause hes wearing a mask and you cannot see his lips move.
2) Nobody can force rioters to remove their mask, cause covid
