A bunch of money made his "ill-equipped"? Imagine if he couldn't pay his bills.

“Reche was ill-equipped to handle life outside the NFL,” his attorney, Nicholas Matassini, told ESPN The Magazine in 2016. “He was jobless, he was bored, he had a bunch of money, and he didn’t know what to do with himself.”

“Former NFL wide receiver Reche Caldwell was shot and killed Saturday in an attempted robbery, his girlfriend and mother told TMZ.”

I prefer to date people I’m not related to - but then this is Florida.

Did they call the police after protesting against the police?

It used to be you went to school to learn and played sports in your spare time. Now you go to school for sports and don’t bother to learn. What a shame, wasted opportunity. University no longer teaches how to deal with life.

Black lives only matter when they get ginned up on drugs and fight the police.

Wiki: (he was a good boy...)

Caldwell was the older brother of Andre Caldwell, former Florida Gators wide receiver and NFL (incl Bengals) wide receiver and kick returner.

On May 14, 2014, Caldwell was arrested for drug possession and intent to distribute.

On January 30, 2015, he was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison and three years probation for possession of MDMA with intent to distribute.

In addition, he pleaded guilty to drug charges involving marijuana and ecstasy, along with charges involving gambling.

On December 12, 2019, Caldwell was accused by the Justice Department of conspiracy to commit health care fraud.

He pleaded guilty to one charge of conspiracy to commit health fraud on January 23, 2020, and was set to be sentenced in June 2020.

I read the whole obit.

Caldwell served a term for drug dealing starting in 2014.

He was due for sentencing in about a month on a conviction for health care fraud.

Not exactly a model citizen.

But typical of the National Felons League.

And to think that back in the 1950s, the bad boy of football was Detroit Lions QB Bobby Layne, who was known to have a couple of nips at halftime.

The NFL doesn’t have any problem that couldn’t be solved by purging the felons and bringing in some motivated young athletes — even if those players suffer from the unforgivable taint of being WHITE.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/15472532/how-reche-caldwell-googled-way-patriots-prison
[THE FIRST LESSON Reche Caldwell learned in prison is that no one escapes on a Tuesday. Here in Montgomery, Alabama, Tuesday is movie night, and anyone who went on the lam last week, for instance, would have missed Morgan Freeman’s timeless tour de force Lean on Me. Caldwell, the leading receiver on the 2006 Patriots, might be the most inept criminal the NFL has ever produced, but give him credit for this: He was clever enough to get locked up at FPC Montgomery, a waterfront minimum security prison “fenced” inside the Maxwell Air Force Base by nothing more than a row of meticulously manicured crimson crepe myrtles. For inmates, the only real threat of bodily harm comes from the tee box of the Cypress Tree par 5 that runs down the length of the camp’s west side. For visitors, the only disconcerting moment is at the security entrance, checking in while prisoners stroll past unfettered and headed toward the shimmering waters of Gun Island Chute, or perhaps the equestrian stables just across the road.

Caldwell arrived here at the beginning of 2015 after an epic crime spree that was eerily similar to his NFL career — short-lived, unfocused and full of colossal blunders. His 10-month rager included two SWAT raids, four arrests, a half-eaten hoagie (we’ll explain) and Maxwell House coffee tins stuffed with cash. He also faced a litany of charges for running a multimillion-dollar gambling house in West Tampa and then, after that operation got busted, attempting to import and distribute what he thought was more than 5½ pounds of pure Molly (MDMA).]

Certain people need around the clock discipline. Someone I know from church has a bunch of adopted grandchildren. They came from broken homes and some are borderline or full blown sociopaths. When they are around him they are perfect angels because he puts the fear of God in them. After about 2-3 weeks of not seeing him they go back to their evil ways.

Hi.

Tampa’s east side between I 275 N to 50th St, to MLK to Adamo is dangerous at this time. So is Fletcher Ave south.

Make sure you are armed, keep your hands out of your pockets and your head on a swivel.

You know what your problem is, pussycat?

Elvira Hancock : What is my problem, Tony?

Tony Montana : You got nothing to do with your life, man. Why don’t you get a job? Do something, be a nurse. Work with blind kids, lepurs, that kind of thing. Anything beats you waiting around all day, waiting for me to **** you, I’ll tell you that.
