No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

We all no that the mayor of Washington dc will not allow New Jersey national guardsmen to stay at hotels in the DC area and she has even requested that the governor of new jersey recall the national guard. this is an attempt to have the riots Burn down DC. the constitution does not allow the forced housing of military hence the mayor of DC is trying to use the defunding of military housing to remove the troops...I don't live in DC so I cant offer a bed myself but I figure that citizens of DC could contact the new jersey national guard and offer them a room as there guest during this time of need.

I think the rooms had been rented by the NG. I was in a hurricane hit area a couple of years ago, and most of the other people in the hotel were NG. The Guard pays for the hotel rooms, although they probably get a special rate, but there was nothing forcible about it.

As in DC, the hotels in the area were pretty much vacant anyway because of the lack of travelers (with the exception of some nearby people like me who were just seeking higher ground).

I’m a little puzzled by the DC situation. Was DC paying for their housing? Had these hotels somehow been requisitioned against their owners’ will? I don’t understand how she could “order” them out of a private business where they had contracted for services, but maybe the DC situation is different. I don’t know, it’s all crazy. And the mayor is leading the pack among crazies.

Here’s an important part from our Constitution, Article I, Section 9

“The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.”

Rebellion is exactly what is going on right now.

No they’re not. But it is ownership of land. And if you’re playing monopoly you definitely want a hotel on your property instead of a house.

Hello .
This does not apply here at all.
Privately owned hotels are not a private home .
The mayor is forcing her politics on privately owned property .
Stop trying to justify this crazed haters actions .

She's been ordered to clear the way for the attack on the White House.

What's so hard to understand about that?

These Dem mayors know that the National Guard would shut down these demonstrations. Those looters and property destroyers are wanted by these Dem politicians. They know it will kill the businesses already to the breaking point because of the COVID-19 lock-downs. They know that the anarchists, using the cover of Floyd’s murder protests, will take out the Capitalist sector. This is what the Left has wanted for decades. It wants to destroy Capitalism by destroying the rule of law required by the commercial sector.

President Trump loves our police. Police racism is, and has been, a phony issue used by the Left. It is a way to hurt the image of the police as well as Trump, who loves and respects our police.

We have seen, when people know that the police have their hands tied behind they backs, how quickly they descend into violent anarchy that destroys the business sector. The business sector is the main target. The National Guard ensures that the police aren’t overpowered and the destruction continues. These DemonRATs want the destruction to kill the economy so they can use it to hurt President Trump. It reveals their willingness to allow severe damage to people’s lives in order to get power. The COVID-19 lock-downs failed to do it and now they are pouring gas on the fire to make it happen here.

I guess if we want our country back we are going to have to take it back.

Every communist revolution happens because nobody did anything about the looting.

Everyone stayed home (lock down/cure-fews)

Nation’s military stood by and then joined the riots.

We need to get our heads out of our asses and get rid of a whole bunch of people, permanently. Otherwise they will soon do the same to US - A. The voting can’t happen soon enough.

In NY, police enforce lockdowns. I don’t blame Starbucks for not serving them. I wouldn’t either.

To be sure the owner of the hotels agreed to them staying. Filled rooms and paychecks for the employees.

I still think it would be a grand idea to nationalize all the land in D.C. If it a small place, about 64 square miles of land. There are tracts of privately held land, such as the Watergate hotel complex, museums, commercial properties and slum housing.

Once nationalized, businesses would be allowed to continue to operate with low cost leasing, museums with no-cost leases, and small businesses would pay for franchises in the city. The slums would be bulldozed, and the infrastructure modernized. This means that most people would leave D.C. at the close of business.

I am surpised there is a Starbucks standing in NY.

Many of our cities are destroyed. If you search youtube you can see quite a few videos of people driving around showing the destruction.
