Contact tracing is rather pointless at this point.

With the number of cases and number of hospitalizations declining trotting out thousands of inexperienced contract tracers is a waste of time and money.

But that is pretty much why they are doing it IMO. I wouldn’t be surprised as this winds down, Pelosi and her gang try to make them permanent Federal employees (unionized of course).

Contract tracing is most useful at the early stages of an epidemic and rather pointless after reaching pandemic stage.

The API for these "apps" ship in iOS 13.5 and the Google Android equivalent.

Supposedly, it is disabled by default.
When the tracing app is downloaded (supposedly voluntarily), it is supposed to be disabled (not tracking) by default
You supposedly have the control to disable this at any time (right!)

Sorry folks, just to "Mark of the Beast" for me. The thought of someone having the capability of being tracked constantly and my whereabouts recorded for future review is bad enough. Add the ability to find you and confront you if you've either been exposed (yeah I was in the area of someone 2 weeks ago who later tested positive) just rankles me!

Add to the fact that there will be the capability to link this to future financial functions (got to get rid of that dirty, contaminated paper and coin currency and go electronic!) just adds more red flags. Unfortunately, I would believe that the NSA, Android and your cell company already can trace you, everywhere. It is not difficult to trace everyone you meet through the intersection of THEIR tracking with yours. We lost much of our privacy many years ago, replaced with anonymity. The only way to avoid 'the machine' is to leave the phone at home and/or use a 'burner' phone.

Alberta has had offered for the last month on Google play (and likely Apple Store), a CCP-Coronavirus tracing app. Note: I use MY terminology for it, NOT the official name. He🏒🏒 no! Sure, they have the ability to trace me, or anyone, but I want them to WORK FOR IT! Also, Alexa and similar items are no where to be found in my dwelling. What I say or do is none of Big Brother's business!
