The Iranian government isn't going to tell US the truth. I bet the King of the K.S.A. knew about it ahead of time.
Our forces ARE still there in north and west of the K.S.A. at the mouth of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. It's more mud than delta.
There USED to be the wetlands of Iraq, once inhabited by the Marsh Arabs. The area was almost completely dried out, and have only recently shown signs of recovery. The Tigris–Euphrates Basin is shared by Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran and Kuwait.
Is this how the Iranian navy “quarantines” their ships and crews?

No more Bedouins in the area any more. Saudi Arabia gathered them up some 50 years ago...coaxed them into apartments and multi-level homes...big enough for a few of their famous black tailed sheep.

Saudi families occasionally "go Bedouin" out in the desert but they are always "camped" near water and telecommunications...with their Mitsubishis pick-ups parked out in front.
Camels are raised still for camel races and such. Only the females are kept. The males are too obstreperous.
Looks to be armed.

Those Iranian ships are constantly making runs at US capital ships whenever they can. play “chicken” knowing full well that the US is not likely to shoot first. This is an excellent long term desensitizing strategy on the part of the Iranians. One day if they are of the suicidal mind, what is to stop them from firing ship to ship missiles at close range instead of veering off.
Over the horizon shot on a non- functional IFF transponder? Lol. Who knows, maybe it sent the wrong nation’s signal.....
Friendly fire? Yeah, right. It was the U.S. Navy or an ally. Iran isn’t going to admit they taunted the U.S one time too many.
