‘Friendly fire’ naval accident reported in Iran

There are reports out of Iran of a “friendly fire” accident of some sort where an Iranian destroyer has sunk a second Iranian naval vessel:
At Iran's Navy exercise: "Jamaran" destroyer mistakenly has shot and sank Kenarak frigate, killing more than 40. Bodies of 22 have been found. Injured are transferred to Chabahar hospitals.#IranTruth
Quoted source claims: "News about sinking of the Kenarak frigate is accurate"

It’s pretty damn near impossible to have a friendly fire incident of this magnitude when you are not actively engaged in battle with an actual enemy.

I am flabbergasted that the event was even reported by the Iranian government. Maybe it was an intentional "accident."
I wouldn't trust them for all the tea in Iran. They ARE avid tea drinkers and have Châikhâne (Tea House) on every corner.
