Who is ready for COVID-20???
today | Oscar in Batangas

Posted on 05/08/2020 9:39:17 PM PDT by Oscar in Batangas

Think about it: the inaugural season was such a great success, you KNOW "our betters" in the DeepState will try it again.

So, let's put our heads together and make a FReepers' survival list for next year's COVID-20.

After roughly two months, you all have a pretty good idea of your pantry's pluses and minuses.

So...

What are you running out of? What did you over-stock? What unexpected craving cropped up that you had no way of anticipating?

Does your 'local militia' have a plan to 'discourage' the jack-boot thugs who will come around to shut down your local house of worship/ barber/ beauty shop/ auto repair guy/ tavern???

Let's use this down-time to stratergize for the next time.

I'm good on toilet paper, and being in the jungle, I have a limitless choice of leaf size and grit grade for THAT purpose.

Chickens everywhere; lizards & snakes are easy to find and our garden produces all year long

Am running a bit low of cat food, but hell, they don't like me anyway...except at mealtime. So SUFFER you little buggers!

Beer could become problematic after a few more weeks, but I can switch to the hard stuff, if needed.

Mrs. Batangas REALLY wants some hair coloring....And right now she's not all that picky about the color!!!

Only forgot rubbing alcohol reallly

And I guess yeast but, otherwise we won’t run out soon

Maybe yarn for for crocheting?

Dunno.

Got clothes I have never worn and clothes for deep winter so, it would take years before I needed anything

Regular, normal Americans won’t take the next one seriously.

The secret is out.

I said right from the start: It’s the Annual Flu -— maybe an extra bad version, but the annual flu, nonetheless.

I grieve for those fatalities from previous years (hundreds of thousands of them) who died without the ‘panic-pandemic’ fanfare.

How about a plan to ‘quarantine’ certain elected officials who forget their place in a constitutional republic???

7 May: American Greatness: Is the CDC Meddling with the 2020 Election?
The Centers for Disease Control is looking more and more like the 2020 version of James Comey’s FBI.
By Julie Kelly
The coronavirus crisis is reaping big political benefits for Democrats. President Trump’s signature achievement—a booming economy with record low unemployment, rising middle-class wages, and a sky-high stock market—lies in tatters...
Not satisfied with throwing tens of millions of American workers on the unemployment line or forcing tens of millions of American students out of school with its initial “Flatten the Curve” plan immediately followed by its “Slow the Spread” plan, the CDC has prepared yet another outlandish plan to prolong the nation’s misery.

The document was leaked to the press last week and published by the Associated Press on Thursday sourced by—surprise!—an anonymous government official who was “not authorized to speak to reporters.” (Stop me if you’ve heard this before or a gazillion times in the Trump era.)…

The White House, mercifully and wisely, has shelved the plan. But it’s hard to see the proposal as anything but an egregious attempt to keep Americans depressed, isolated, and angry throughout the year, manifesting itself in a rebellion at the ballot box this November against the man allegedly responsible for causing so much misery—Donald Trump...

Rod Rosenstein’s sister, Nancy Messonier, is still at CDC. she agrees with covid scaremongerer, Harvard’s Mark “Lockdown” Lipsitch:

5 Mar: Business Insider: Between 40% and 70% of adults worldwide could get the coronavirus, one Harvard expert says. That’s at least 3 billion cases.
by Aylin Woodward
Harvard epidemiologist Marc Lipsitch told the Deep Background podcast (LINK) that the coronavirus could become a pandemic that affects between 40% and 70% of the world’s adult population – at least 3 billion people...
“There’s a chance that between 40% and 70% of the world’s adult population could end up infected with coronavirus,” he told podcast host Noah Feldman (HARVARD, TRUMP IMPEACHMENT INQUIRY) on a February 28 episode of Deep Background.
That would mean the world could see between 3.1 billion and 5.5 billion coronavirus cases before the outbreak subsides.

There’s a caveat to this alarming prediction, though: Lipsitch said 40% to 70% of the world’s adults would only get infected in the absence of strong countermeasures. If countries continue to institute “population-level” interventions like “cancelling public gatherings, potentially closing schools … working from home, and other kinds of ways of reducing contact between people,” Lipsitch said, the outbreak could slow or stop before it hits that point...
On March 3, a week after his podcast appearance, Lipsitch tweeted (LINK) that he had amended his prediction to be that only 20% to 60% of adults would be infected...

To keep as many people as possible from getting sick, he added, governments should seek to minimise contact between large groups of people. But restrictions like cancelling school and forbidding public gatherings “would have to be in place for a very long time and will be very unpleasant for many people, worse than unpleasant,” Lipsitch said.

Nancy Messonnier (ROD ROSENSTEIN’S SISTER) director of the National Centre for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (CDC), echoed similar suggestions during a recent press briefing...

AUDIO: 1m16s: 9 Nov 2016: WABE Public Radio Atlanta: Atlanta CDC Employees Express Anxiety Over Trump’s Win
by Tasnim Shamma
Employees at the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say the mood in their office is somber.
The employees of one of the largest federal agencies in Atlanta said they’re concerned about job safety, funding and new public health policies under Donald Trump’s presidency.

At the General Muir deli across the street from the CDC, a few employees talked to WABE, asking that their names not be used. One microbiologist said her colleagues were crying in the hallways.
“It’s really sad,” she said. “It’s depressing. I’m eating a bagel to try and be happy.”
She said she’s worried Trump might appoint public health leaders who may not be in total support of mandatory vaccinations, pointing to Dr. Ben Carson or Florida Governor Rick Scott.

Another CDC worker said her job collecting data is partially funded through the Affordable Care Act.
“I’m pretty worried about work that I’ve put in for the last year and a half if it gets repealed wholesale, and if that goes away, we regress like scientifically 20 years back,” she said...

In an emailed statement, the CDC wrote: “As always in political transitions, CDC stands ready to work with the new administration to protect and advance America’s health security.”

I keep track of what I buy all year, and I’m good for more than a year on anything that’s not perishable. That includes toilet paper and medical supplies, and even N95 masks and nitrile gloves. I’m hoping the thugs in government don’t overreach so much the next time around (I know, VERY unlikely after this success on their part), but otherwise I’m good.

I agree, but what if the next one is 10 times more deadly? I’m worried there will be another, more deadly one.

'Got clothes I have never worn and clothes for deep winter so, it would take years before I needed anything'

Glad you brought that up. While in the process of going through the closet for a Goodwill donation, I discovered a whole wardrobe of things that still have the tags on them that I received as Christmas gifts, etc. I found two pairs of dress shoes and two pairs of hiking boots I forgot I even had.

One thing we learned was buying lots of milk that lasts months and does not need to be refrigerated until opened is very good to have. Even for normal use when there is milk still in the shops. This way we never run-out of milk. Who knew? And it is not bad tasting like I thought it would be.

I guess all this insane unscientific social distancing nonsense is to remain a permanent thing; and with most people (many freepers) condoning the practice as necessary mitigation. How far we have fallen...

We can buy ‘fresh’ milk over here, but it is pretty expensive and not always available in our smaller cities.

So I have months worth of the UHT processed milk here.

It’s good for a year after production (if you go by the labelling) so it’s probably good for 1½ years at least

I’ve managed to find TP recently and have been stocking up on that.

We’re getting the garden really going this year.

Well stocked on canning jar lids and jars.

We actually have far more stuff than we need and are trying to down size.

A few things to consider stocking up on.

One is salt. It’s often not mentioned in prepping but is critical for survival and is not going to be easy to find should supply chains break down again. It stores very well in canning jars.

The other thing that is overlooked is car parts. all the little stuff that is needed just for basic maintenance, oil filters, oil, wiper blades, air filters, etc.

Same for other small equipment like chain saws and lawn mowers.

This time off is also a good time to do home repairs while building materials are still available. Get the place fixed up and spruced up so it will be good for living in for along time before needing work done. Think plumbing supplies and electrical. Make sure you have all the tools you want and the chimney and fireplace/woodstove are in good working order. And don’t forget matches.

Laundry detergent etc, keeps indefinitely. I called P&G once many years ago to ask about the shelf life of laundry detergent, and they said it virtually never went bad.

And toiletries. At least you can be clean.
