FRENCH HOSPITAL STOPS HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE TREATMENT FOR COVID-19 PATIENT OVER MAJOR CARDIAC RISK
Newsweek ^ | 04/08/2020 | Hannah Osborne

A hospital in France has had to stop an experimental treatment using hydroxychloroquine on at least one coronavirus patient after it became a "major risk" to their cardiac health.

The University Hospital Center of Nice (CHU de Nice) is one of many hospitals trialing hydroxychloroquine in COVID-19 patients. It announced it had been selected for the trial on March 22. A statement from the hospital said it was testing four experimental treatments, one of which included hydroxychloroquine. It hoped to establish its effectiveness and side effects of this and the other treatments being tested.

In an interview with the French daily newspaper Nice-Matin, Professor Émile Ferrari, the head of the cardiology department at the Pasteur hospital in Nice, said the side effects had already been identified, with some patients having to stop treatment because of the risk posed.

He said electrocardiogram recordings of patients involved with the trial were being constantly monitored. An ECG measures electrical activity in the heart, and represents this on a graph as a QT interval. Ferrari said these recordings are interpreted and, if anomalies are reported, treatment is stopped.

Asked if this had happened yet, he said: "Yes, from the start of the trial. Thanks to this ECG follow-up, we highlighted the major risks of a very serious accident in a patient, and the treatment was immediately stopped."

The potential cardiac side effects of hydroxychloroquine were highlighted by the Mayo Clinic at the end of March. An article on its website said the drug has potential to lead to sudden cardiac death in some patients. In a small number of patients it has the potential to lead to prolonged QTc , which can result in an abnormal heart rhythm.

Hydroxychloroquine, Mayo Clinic said, blocks one of the channels that controls the heart's electrical recharging systems.

Not according to a rheumatologist who has more than 2000 Lupus patients under his care and has been in practice for 42 years at Cedar-Sinai.
He sent correspondence to the FDA stating unequivocally, that not a single one of his THOUSANDS of patients who have been taking the drug daily for many, many years has ever exhibited and deleterious side effects. Ever. Furthermore, he stated that not one of his thousands of patients has come down with the Wuhan Virus.
He stated that if there is any heart-related issue it is likely with the Z-Pack with certain patients.
He further backed up the combination of HCQ with high dosage Zinc supplement as a likely efficacious combination.
This doctor’s statement has been discussed on numerous radio and TV shows but has not gotten ANY COVERAGE AT ALL by the MSM or, a single Leftist talk show.

As someone who has suffered two heart attacks, I’d opt for sudden cardiac arrest over slow, torturous suffocation any day.

Fear mongering. A fair number of drugs have the potential to affect the QT interval. And this can be a potential problem in patients with certain conditions especially when more than one such drug is being taken. But that’s not a reason to think of the drug as generally unsafe. Heck, over 50 million z-paks are prescribed every year for Pete’s sake and that’s a macrolide and thus a QT prolonger, but that isn’t stopping it from being prescribed like candy.

"Doctor with thousands of Lupus patients taking HCQ and he said he has given no EKG’s."

My son has taken Plaquenil twice a day for years for his RA, without any side effects.

Headline should read:

IT’S A FAKE HEADLINE - the article does not say what the headline says.

WHY ARE THE ARTICLES YOU POST IN CAPS? WHY DON’T YOU TAKE FIVE MINUTES TO TYPE IT OUT IF THE ARTICLE IS IN CAPS. IT’S OBNOXIOUS ON THE FRONT PAGE TO SEE YOUR LONG ASS TITLES ALL IN CAPS.

Thank you.

The communists/globalists have bought and paid for this virus, and darn it, they want to get their full money’s worth out of it! Now quit talking about treatments & cures and start talking about doom, gloom & death like good little “unwashed masses”.

Newsweak currently has three panic articles regarding the prescription of hydroxychloroquine. They are trying to re-establish themselves in the fake news market.

the doc on fox who has been treating patients- many many patients, for decades now- has never experienced anyone that fell into the danger category- even pregnant women can take this drug-

he said the guideline SUGGESTION is to make sure the patient doesn’t have heart issues before giving it but stated that this was just a suggestion, and the risk was so small that they don’t even bother checking folks- the risk is practically non existent

The msm resistance to this drug is truly Satanic! They oppose it only because President Trump suggested it’s use- They would rather people drop dead i n the 10’s of 1000’s than to give President Trump and credit for anything

Now- had obama mentioned using it if it had happened under his term- the msm would be singing it;s praises all day long and suing any governors that refused it’s usage- or limited it in any way-
