Flubros and Flubras! Day 18 (A place for Flubros and Flubras)

It’s just the flu, bro.

Open up the country for work!

There are a few things I am watching today: 1. Countries have made their curves too flat and there is too much social distancing. This means that the probability of the virus starting up again is high. This has happened in SK and Wuhan. The government is putting too many roadblocks in front of healthy people (who are better off catching it now than later). Only the vulnerable should have a CDC recommendation to social distance. Remember the science of voluntary health-differentiated social distancing (HSD).

2. Civil liberties - it’s not too bad where I live in Texas but many states are getting tyrannical.

3. Calls for unity are calls for tyranny - Some celebrity made a call for unity and he even said to support Trump. I have no problem with a celebrity saying he supports Trump. My problem is the unity. Unity, in the context of the USA, should not mean universal support and agreement with government officials at any level. If people want unity they can look to the greatest example of national unity on the planet - North Korea.

God bless Texas.

Are you saying that you'd refuse to be vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine, one that proceeds safely thru a peer reviewed clinical trial?

Are you referring to the one that is probably a year out and being developed by Gates with RFID in the vax shot?

Hell, yeah I would refuse but you can proceed with it if you like

Yep. Total number dead at this time would be approaching a million from the 2.2 million first estimated by our chicken Littles with stock options.

14k total is a damn sight short of a million, wouldn't you say?

You’re damn straight, I’d refuse

As a first-world society, when an approved COVID-19 vaccine is developed, you won't be given the option to infect others with reckless behavior.

So here you are, an avowed antivaxxer who will refuse a WuFlu vaccine, posting every day about how people can best fight COVID-19? Why would anyone take you seriously?

I don’t get flu shots but I am not personally opposed to all vaccines. I like to make my own choices, and I had my kids vaccinated. It seemed like a good choice.

But, as a Conservative, I think it is essential to let other people decide differently than I do. If someone doesn’t want to be vaccinated, I hardly think it is my role to force it on them.

Especially when people like Bill Gates are behind some of these vaccines. That man is not trustworthy and has bad motives.

If you want to force people to take injections from the government, that’s your prerogative. But I hope you don’t consider yourself a Conservative.

Yes, but the rate of infections isn’t slowing down. Deaths are only now starting to reflect the infection rates as it takes time to reach that stage. And with so few of the population infected we could be at the very beginning of this thing and it might take years to unfold. I am absolutely sick of this quarantine the cutting everybody Louis is absolute suicide for this nation.

If America waits for a vaccine to open up the country then the USA economy will be in tatters and over half the population will be permanently dependent on a heavily taxed productive class. Who is John Galt?

Is it true you’re an anti-vaxxer?

As you can see from my tagline I lean that way. I am a vaccine skeptic actually. I will admit that there are times when they are effective but there are also elements of risk that their proponents never want to admit. I am old enough to remember the government's Swine Flu debacle of the 70's where the cure truly was worse than the disease. Now we could be looking at a scenario where vaccine proponents are jonesing to race a COVID-19 vaccine into production at unprecedented speed. If ANYTHING goes wrong with that the solution could quite literally start killing more people than the disease.

Life is a series of risk/benefit analysis. You pays your money and you takes your choice.

I won’t (no not who you addressed) I’ll let others take it to make the virus less spread around.

I took a standard flu vaccine in 1999. I’m still sick from it. A chronic form of GB. My immune system attacks me. I also rarely get any flu or cold symptoms for more that a day or so.....my immune system once again.

My grown kids have my genetics so they don’t take flu or virus vaccines either. I don’t begrudge anyone else from taken them. It helps the country.

Also
There won’t be a vaccine for many many months

They don’t. This dope’s daily thread is the C19 version of the OfFiCiAl fRiDaY sIlLiNeSs ThReAd.

Waste of space, sure, but somewhat entertaining to see someone double and triple down on their own stupidity.

Why did you say we should "Give this virus to the young and healthy"?

Aren't you aware some would die, or don't you care?

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Is there any number that would make you rethink your view?
2000 yesterday. If it’s 3000 per day by weekend? 4000 per day next week?

And that is with the mitigation so before you answer you should honestly try to assess what the numbers would look like with less mitigation.

I don’t know the answers to what gets us out of this best. But I am fairly certain of this. So far Trump has done the absolute correct things. If he did any less mitigation, even with the numbers we currently see, the pressure would grow to the point, with the help of a rabid media, that the mitigation we currently see would be implemented. But by that time every death, with the help of the same rabid media, would have been laid at his feet. And it likely would have doomed his re-election.
