Ever hear the story about this song???
Faron Young, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings were all living together in a boarding house in Nashville at the time Willie Nelson wrote the song...
They were all trying to make it in the business at the time...Willie tried it out in front of them and they all laughed and for the next couple of days, they all walked around in the house saying “Hello kitchen”...”Hello Bathroom”...”Hello door”...Things like that...When Faron recorded it and it went sky high, Willie got the last laugh...

Tillman Franks was instrumental in the rise of Johnny Horton and played on most of Horton's hits. He wrote “When It's Springtime In Alaska”. On film clips of Johnny Horton Tillman is the man playing the Gretch 6120 with his name embedded in the fretboard. Faron Young died tragically and had no idea that his popularity was coming back with the satellite radio airplay.

I’m a big Willie Nelson fan. There are some great stories in that video. Faron Young was the best. I play guitar in a couple of senior bands. We perform the old standards, including most of the songs on the Stardust album, except I have the lead vocal on the Bobby Darin version of Blue Skies.

This was the first tune Willie wrote when he got signed to write songs. Guy stuck him in a room and said, “Write something”. Willie sat there befuddled for a bit, looked around and said, “Hello walls.”
