Folded Cloth Masks
self | 03/30/2020 | Brian Grifin

Posted on 03/31/2020 4:39:10 PM PDT by Brian Griffin

Cut a sheet into one by two feet pieces. Place a two-foot long piece of string in the middle of a piece. Fold the piece over the string. Loop the string over your ears. Flop the outer half of the piece over your head. Tie(or knot) the string around the lower half of the piece and your throat. Fold the top half of the piece back down. Put on eyeglasses to close off bridge of nose openings. To remove, cut string if exposed to hazard and discard, or if not, slip string over ears for reuse.

I'm just wrapping my old rep ties from college and early career around my face. Silk.

Nobody wears ties anymore. Bringing it back, gangsta style.

I have a box of masks. I got them for wearing when I mow the lawn when it is dry. I just got to wondering if they would do any good.

After reading the list of things it is not meant for, it appears they aren’t any good for anything.

Better yet, cut your wife's old bras in half and use rubber bands to put them over your face.........They're re-washable too........

Just thinking out of the box can do wonders....but don't even wander into athletic supporters.

If it has FFP2 or 3 EN149 2001 written on it ,you’re good to go.

That’s been my primary worry.
Wearing a bandana to Walmart while CCWing is more likely to get me shot than not wearing a mask will get me COVID19.

Very workable DIY mask

Check out the safety pin that holds the paper towel middle layer in place

About a week ago, masks were starting to show up at the supermarket on Cape Cod. I saw one guy walking in from the parking lot with a red bandanna tied around his face, cowboy movie train-robber style. Definitely not N95.

That is probably written on the box. In a list of what it is not approved for.

I am serious, it really isn’t good for anything official tho I can attest that they do a good job of filtering dust. It is a little bit hard to breathe through so it must be filtering something.

Yeah they will work just fine. Actually I think a bandana would work as well.

I have a long white chef apron. I cut it in piedes to size. Use sneaker shoelaces in holes poked through. Then I tape two large gauze pads to inside of mask tie upper and lower laces behind. Take off spray with Lysol and hand to dry.
