[New Rochelle, N.Y.—March 31, 2020] At the Glen Island Park drive-thru COVID-19 testing entrance, New York National Guardsmen told Project Veritas founder and CEO James O’Keefe the media reaction to the virus outbreak was overblown and to him it was just a flu.
The guardsman then instructed O’Keefe to turn his hazard lights on, follow the car in front of him and observe the testing center’s drive-thru directional signage. After receiving the instructions, O’Keefe engaged with the guardsman.
James O’Keefe: “What about the situation itself. Is it as bad as--the media is
saying? The whole pandemic?”
New York Army National Guardsman: “Oh no. It’s the flu!”
O’Keefe: “That’s all it is?”
Guardsman: “It’s the flu.”
Later, in the exchange:
O’Keefe: And, it’s not as bad as the media is saying, I’m hearing”
Guardsman: “No. I’m in the tents with them. I’m doing all this sh*t.”
O’Keefe: “What are you? Are you guys like Army National Guard or what are you
guys?”
Guardsman: “Yeah, it’s the Army.”
O’Keefe: “You’re in the Army?”
Guardsman: “Yeah, from New York.”
The view was shared by a medical professional working the site, who spoke to O’Keefe.
O’Keefe: “Is it as bad as they’re saying, this pandemic? Everyone’s freaking out. Is it bad, is it overblown by the media, what is it like?”
Medical worker: “Is it what?”
O’Keefe: “Is the media accurately reporting or is it as bad as people are saying?”
Medical worker: “No.”
O’Keefe: “It’s not as bad as the—”
Medical worker: “It’s precautionary.”
O’Keefe: “The media is making it out bigger?”
Medical worker: “Yes.”

For most people that’s true - no worse than the flu. It’s the other 20% of the infected population that’s collapsing healthcare systems around the world.

Soldiers are, on the whole, not doctors.
Guardsmen in tents with, on the whole, patients with mild cases.
The serious cases are loading up the ICUs.
In a sense ... yeah, it’s the flu. With >10x the lethality. With >4x the transmission rate.
Yeah, most people who get it will get by fine.
If flu kills 80,000/yr, then simple math shows this “flu” will kill >1,000,000/yr without “social distancing” and medical heroics.
It’s not “just the flu”. Anyone who thinks it is, is an innumerate moron.
Amazing how many people don’t grasp:
Sometimes dramatic/difficult/expensive action is required to maintain the status quo.
Proper mitigation of a major threat shows no apparent results (see Y2K).

This research study puts the case mortality rate at 1.3% and the infection mortality rate at .67%. That’s about 7 times worse that the seasonal flu, which kills about 40,000 per year. It’s not just the flu it’s 7 times deadlier. And possibly more contagious.

Sorry, but exactly how would they even know? Second, their instructions are to minimize the situation whenever dealing with the general public.
The projections for climate change have been wrong.
The projections for who is going to win the 2016 election was wrong.
Computer models can say anything. Bad input gives you bad output.
The flu is an airborne virus.

ALL THE REASON why we should not shut down our economy on faulty models.
Quarantine those infected, but let the economy continue. The legality of quarantine is historically for the sick and not the healthy. We never had the burden of proving ourselves healthy to exercise Rights.

Have no idea what he was hoping to prove with this stunt, pretty embarrassing. But maybe the virus shutdown has limited his group from doing anything of merit.

It would seem Okeefe screwed the Pooch on this one. They are talking in the 100,000 dead range in the next 2 weeks. Therefore in 2 weeks we are going to know if destroying the best economy in history was necessary.
