Test question: Is Italy doing everything it can to mitigate death?
Answer: Yes. Not enough staff, PPE, beds, ventilators, coffins, funeral homes, grave diggers, crematoriums, etc.
Italy also has the oldest population in Europe, high population density, lots of smokers and a crap-ton of cheap Chinese labor. Plus it’s just after Chinese new year so how many of those workers went “home for the holidays?”. Its the proverbial perfect storm.

Simple arithmetic also shows that only 1 in 1300 people in Italy are infected.
Population = 60,800,000/47,021 cases = 1293. To hear the Doomsters tell it, every other person in the country is infected.
There is way too much fear out there. And it is being wielded like a weapon against the stupid and poorly informed.

Another interesting statistic. The country with the greatest concentration of infection is San Marino. They have had only 151 cases, but since their population is 33,562, the ratio is greater.
But it serves the MSM’s purpose to quote Italy’s large absolute numbers, with no regard to proportion.

The crisis is political in nature. The failed democrats are destroying the country in the faint hope of regaining power.
The solution is to rid the country of democrats. After they are dead and gone we can consider if we are all in this together.
About 3 months ago I started warning my friends and family.

Basically telling them I’m not as worried about the flu as I am about people’s behavior.

I’m Italian. Too much mashed potatoes and pasta got me fat (and too much sitting around). Then the high blood sugar put a stop to all that. Now I cook mostly at home (always used to, in fact) but use a lot of fresh cauliflower and broccoli and olive oil. Just made a roast last night - 2 1/2 half hours in the oven, fork tender. Added chopped cauliflower toward the end. Lots of fresh garlic, too. Hardly miss the potatoes at all.
