said, ""Many more people will die from the stress related to the hysteria then the virus itself."
previously said, "“80% of cases have been mild”"

Define mild. all the reports and statistics I've seen are those that felt ill enough to talk to a doctor to get checked out. In the pandemic of 2009 we estimated 61 million people came down with N1H1 though not that many needed to check in too see a doctor.

In other words the statistics on this coronavirus is basing it on the 20% that see a doctor. which makes the death rate give a false reading compared to other pandemics

from your link page five table one. It shows those that have symptoms which have been checked by qualified personal. When the vast majority never needed to get checked out as they will have very mild symptoms. Which means those statistics are not factoring in about 80% of the total number that get infected.

meaning the death rate is many times less then the death rate in South Korea as they did the best testing so far.
This is a pandemic but it's no more dangerous then the Pandemic of 2009

I’ve been taking a different approach, but that method seems valid, assuming all the assumptions are correct. That might be a good way of estimating the true number of cases out there, as opposed to the number of confirmed cases.

Don’t you think it should be the other way around?

Make it a Quarantine Ship?

De Wine has lost his mind, all those closings are going to go way beyond hurt, your talking about putting people out of work, maybe on a permanent basis.

I hope I’m not posting this on the wrong thread.

But did you notice that GA DPH is now posting testing results?

That’s progress!

As it should be, right?

I did, that is good news. It was a bit reassuring me that we were testing as much as we are...

There’s a new thread..

Noted & thanks. Good info.

We have an Oster electronic control toaster oven with a convection setting (tends to even out the temperatures inside). And I can monitor with a temperature gun on the first tries.

My Mom’s oven I’ll avoid. It chars the side of the pizza in the back of the oven before the front is done.

Noted on the clogging. I kinda figured that. Since we have only 5 of the N95’s, I may try “prefiltering” with something over the N95 mask to take out dust & such. A bandana should do it. Hopefully WalMart doesn’t think I’m a bank robber gone lower-end-intended-target.

“Hi, Love? I’m gonna be late getting home...”

Mom’s place is fairly “low dust”, but even so, it is always interesting to shine a tight beam high intensity light in the dark, almost anywhere, and see all the “stuff” floating around.

We are in complete agreement!

I didn’t mean to imply that the virus is multiplying on its own in ventilation.

Just that in closed systems a small viral load will infect a new person and that person will add to the viral load in the ventilation. So another person, or another few persons will get infected from the ventilation, and will add to the virons in the the vents. Then more people will get infected breathing the same air in the closed system, etc. etc.

Because this virus is airborne!

Agree! - and the IDIOTS who are supposed to be our public health ‘experts’ never considered that possible - because they listened to China.

There are 24 Million happy people in Taiwan because their government understood something very simple - COMMUNISTS LIE.

I responded to you initially because you did two things - promoting Quercetin as a *1 absolute cure and promoting potential bronchial damage as your #3 absolute cure.

I disputed Quercetin as an easy-peasy over-the-counter cure. Quercetin is quickly excreted with a half-life of about an hour and “undergoes rapid and extensive metabolism that makes the biological effects presumed from in vitro studies unlikely to apply in vivo.”

I pointed out the many drug interactions, and agreed there may be a therapeutic benefit to chloroquine. (And argued hydroxychloroquine seems a safer alternative). Which, by the way, is not over-the-counter, as you claimed. It’s RX only in the US. And both also have contraindications.*

I think it’s important not to be cavalier and say, hey I have 3 cures everybody! take Quercetin, or this or that. Someone not as informed or educated as you are, someone who is panicked, won’t even think about whether there are serious drug interactions or side effects. Like attempting to burn your lungs to 104 for an hour and, hey, that’s cure #3.

On a lighter note, the Korean study of 100 patients was released and talked about today. Citing chloroquine use on the recommendation of China (30 days after the fact)**. Not with zinc, just chloroquine. The French micro-study used Placquenil paired with Azithromycin, an antibiotic. (Did the CCP whisper to France, too?) U of Queensland will conduct a much larger study to look at the efficacy of the treatment on viral suppression, but also the possible role of hydroxychloroquine’s buffering aspect in preventing cytokine storm (and the role of cytokines in supercharging viral replication). No word if they will include zinc (but it would be cool if they did) ;)

*Treating COVID-19 with chloroquine, as is being done in South Korea and China does have the potential to lead to a mutation.
**In early February, Chongqing Kangle Pharmaceutical was requested...to promptly increase...production of... chloroquine phosphate

This is about it, Paul:

Method and results:
Oven dry heat disinfection - 70C (160f) for 30 min
Hair Dryer disinfection - 56C (133F) for 30 min
Alcohol spraying disinfection - degrades filtration below 95
Steamer wet heat disinfection - degrades filtration below 95
High temperature and high-pressure disinfection - distorts
Ultraviolet disinfection - unknown how effective

https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/3QYVWO4kj5qwuSHnhcM9uQ

and,
This video is for demonstration purposes only and not recommended. It’s an experiment by a Los Alamos Brainiac and simulates a viral load on outside of mask before and after washing. Could be a method to use to keep the inside of a healthy person’s mask clean of breath bacteria colonies. Like if the mask is used while walking the dog or briefly out to get the mail and might see a neighbor. But, as above, the mask filtering could be reduced. Washed masks should never be used in a red zone.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGHMU4iegLE

The N95 mask is made of a polypropylene blown fiber. The ‘surgery’ mask is made of three layers - the inner, absorbent layer (to absorb respiratory moisture), the outer water-resistant layer (to prevent droplets from seeping thru) and the trap layer, to trap the little viral buggers that get thru the water-resistant layer. If a mask has not been contaminated, dirt on the front and inside can be scrubbed with a toothbrush and very hot soapy water, then rinsed in hot water and hung to dry outside in the sun.

I haven't talked in terms of absolutes since i was in grade school. You must have me mixed up with someone else or maybe you're not reading my posts?

said, "I disputed Quercetin as an easy-peasy over-the-counter cure"

So do I. if anyone makes that argument i would explain how they're mistaken. If you think you're sick you should talk to a doctor. My argument is preventative.

Thank you for the link. That is intersting

I haven't talked in terms of absolutes since i was in grade school.

you don't remember making this claim on your post 238? followed by post 413?? :

"We already know of three ways to kill this virus. two of them anyone can do over the counter."

An over the counter ionaphor is Quercetin

me: "I disputed Quercetin as an easy-peasy over-the-counter cure"

you: So do I. if anyone makes that argument i would explain how they're mistaken.

sounds pretty 'over the counter' absolute to me.

and then there was post 429: The second method is breathing hot air of 104 deg F for over an hour. You can use your imagination on how that can be done. which isn't difficult.

I mean, those are your words, so, no, I'm not mistaken in tracking our exchange, my FRiend. But that's ok. It's another day and another thread and life is short, right?

Glad you found the last link interesting. It just made me madder than a hornet that China, again, hid treatment data from us.

Qualification: Doing this at home is not precise and should only be done as a preventative.

I said, "We already know of three ways to kill this virus. two of them anyone can do over the counter."
Impedes coronavius growth would be a more precise way of putting it for prevention that is all that is needed.
