An emergency room doctor at EvergreenHealth in Kirkland is in critical condition with COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus.
The hospital at the center of the coronavirus outbreak in King County confirmed that the doctor was ill Sunday afternoon.
EvergreenHealth is providing care for one of our physicians who has a confirmed case of COVID-19. He is in critical condition but stable. Out of respect for our patients privacy and that of his family, there is nothing more we can share at this time, says a brief statement issued by the hospital on Sunday.

40s
front line ER doc
tested negative on tuesday then positive on Friday
I’m going to go with an “Oh, Kr@p” on this one.
They dont know if he got it in the hospital
But it is a worker on the Front line who might not make it
and yeah..it is oh crap..just for that reason
Hopefully, he didn’t work once symptoms started.
But even then, that might be 1 to 3 days he was exposing all the patients he saw.
Who thinks the wuhuflu is on the wane in the US?
Can we see a show of hands?
There is another ER doctor COVID-19 positive and in critical condition on the East Coast.
and one more thing for the people who keep claiming this is no big deal and the new rules in all the states are an overreaction...yada yada yada

I am confused by the stories. A cardiologist in Philly supposedly died.
Must have been a smoker /s
Burning the candle at both ends?
This thing behaves so weird... in some it acts like a normal cold but in others it seems to take people down almost instantly.
Wonder if he got the worse strain...
We can only pray the weaker strain does coz immunity for the stronger strain.
I really believe it goes beyond underlying conditions mantra.
Something else.
Perhaps strain.
Dont really know
But Vegas shutting down kind of freaks me out
The cardiologist in philly is a different story
Can we see a show of hands?
Wash em 1st

It looks like doctors on both coasts got it, as did that nurse in the other article. I wonder...did they all go to the same conference in Hawaii? Exactly when was that conference?
Is that where the people in Washington State got exposed?
Just checked, there are numerous medical conferences in Hawaii, and they just canceled the upcoming one. There was one in January sponsored by the Mayo Clinic and an Internal Medicine one in late February.
