Disney announces they will 'pause production' on The Little Mermaid and more live-action films for 'a short time' amid growing coronavirus fears

Disney will temporarily 'pause production' on a slew of its live-action films as a result of the growing coronavirus threat.

'We have made the decision to pause production on some of our live-action films for a short time,' announced a Disney representative in a statement released Friday.

Although 'there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19' on Disney sets, the halt comes as a result of the company 'considering the current environment and the best interests' of cast and crew.

Projects currently suspended include the live-action The Little Mermaid.

cording to The Hollywood Reporter, Peter Pan & Wendy and Shrunk, the Honey I Shrunk The Kids sequel, 'both in pre-production' will be delayed.

Disney films currently in production, like Ridley Scott's The Last Duel and Guillermo del Toro's Nightmare Alley, will shut down until further notice.

Disney already delayed the release date for the highly anticipated live action Mulan film, which had been scheduled to hit theaters on March 27.

As one of the comments on the site says:

"Well, at least something good came out of this."

The problem with the entire "Woke" movement is that it is an attempt at blatant propaganda.

Men (especially white, heterosexual men) must be depicted as buffoons, inept, or evil. Watch commercials for 10 minutes, and this become so apparent it is almost laughable.

Minorities must be depicted as morally and intellectually superior.

The original Little Mermaid story was a fairy tale written by Hans Christian Anderson. The story is entirely European (especially Nordic) in background, culture, and interpretation.

The 1989 Disney film depicted Arial as a flaming redhead. For over 30 years, people around the world have embraced the character and enjoyed the production. The casting of Ms. Bailey, who is no doubt a talented young woman, was an in-your-face and blatant "woke" push that mocks Disney fans of the original movie and story.

When some fans objected to the casting, the "RACISM" cry went out immediately to squash dissent.

No one bemoans people of all races and backgrounds in films. However, to forcibly inject "Woke" into films to this degree is akin to being forced to endure a mandatory 2 hour company "Diversity" lecture by SJW goons.

I would ask them: for the sequel to the Marvel Black Panther film, would you object to a blonde white man playing the part?

Of course they would.

"Woke" is in the same vein as Nazi and Communist propaganda. Any film, book, opera, concert, or poem that was "Anti-National Socialist" had to be banned or burned.

In Mao's China and Communist Soviet Union, the same was true for anything that was "Counter-Revolutionary."

No thanks Disney.

I don’t understand why they don’t just introduce new characters and stories that show positive people of color. There are hundreds of stories they could do instead of a second rate story to an original. I’m still amazed they haven’t done a Disney flick on George Washington carver. He was pretty cool I guess.

Great question.

The goal of Hollywood, Disney, and our self-appointed "Woke" Sturmabteilung is not simply to embrace "diversity", but to destroy and tear down white, European, heterosexual, and Judeo-Christian culture and history.

Here is a very interesting commentary on Disney, "woke", PC, and SJW.

Almost 2 million views, and very well done.

Woke Disney

I watched the whole thing. I sorta like her take on this. I want to watch her woke video later. She has a sarcasm I like.

Jodi Benson is a committed Christian, and certainly no commie. So I don’t know what you’re getting at.

But I definitely agree, the Coronavirus did some good by at least postponing the woke-make crap that they call a remake of probably one of the main reasons Disney’s STILL around rather than bankrupt.

I just hope they see the light, though Bob Chapek’s statement of continuing to diversity makes me doubtful. We’re REALLY going to need to have Disney go through a Damascus moment to paraphrase the bible if things are to get better for them.
