QUESTION: I am still running a laptop and pc using Windows 7. Is there a virus protection package or software that will secure it from hackers?
Udate the Windows Defender. I believe it will work on Win 7. You don’t really need any other protection than that.
Depends on the version of Windows 7 you have. Professional is pretty secure. This is extremely obsolete software nowadays. Upgraded to the newer version which includes basic protection. I dont use anything beyond what comes with windows. No need to if youre not going to click bait sites were opening emails from strange people.
I run a laptop and a desktop with windows 7 and believe that with my virus protection I shouldn’t have a problem.
Or looking at porn
Avast. And use their secure browser.
not safe against corona virus, otherwise yer fine
My sister and I run AVG free version on our Windows 7 laptops. It has cleaned up issues that expensive Kaspersky completely overlooked.
We have a contract with “Tech To Us” just for basic tech support, and they recommend Malwarebytes. It seems to work well on DH’s Win 7 desktop.
The current version of Norton works on Win 7, and their Norton 360 product also offers a VPN as well as other features.
Microsoft Security Essentials still gets updates. It is what I use on my Win7 laptop and desktop.
Malwarebytes. You can use it free for 1 - 2 weeks, the paid versions is worth it on Win 7 PCs.
After the free trial period, you can keep a free version that scans on demand only, if you want.
The paid version is constantly on guard, real time, against malware. I wouldn’t be without it.

For antivirus it’s good, so is Bitdefender Free Version;

That’s extremely outdated software. Windows, I mean. :)
Myself I'm using Windows 7 Pro with Microsoft Security Essentials for now. Just stay away from suspicious sites.
Another thing that I use is a program called Hostman. What it does is have a list of known bad IPs and it blocks them from your PC via the OS hosts file.
Haven't had a virus in years.
Update to Windows 10. Win 7 no longer supported by Microsoft, you are vulnerable to hackers
If you can't then keep virus protection up and the firewall up. The hackers are looking for Windows 7 machines. Our firewall at work reports on the attacks and they are all after windows 7 machines and they are trying from all over the globe.
Ubuntu or some variety of Ubuntu
Get the Covfefe19/20 patchpack.
If it doesnt work you get a free case of beer.
I’m literally upgrading to Win 7. Good thread. I do have Malwarebytes Premium and will be installing it on the Win 7 platform.
I’ve got Malwarebytes and Windows Defender.
