Senate Republicans are furious at pro-abortion Senator Chuck Schumer regarding his threats against Justice Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh over their votes on a pro-life Supreme Court case. Senator Josh Hawley has said he will bring up a motion to censure Schumer; but, meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell too to the Senate floor to rebuke him.
There is nothing to call this except a threat, he said.
At the very best, his comments were astonishingly reckless and irresponsible, McConnell said. The minority leader of the United States Senate threatened two associate justices of the U.S. Supreme Court. Period.
McConnell asked Schumer to withdraw his comments and apologize.
Contrary to what the Democratic leader has tried to claim, he very clearly was not addressing Republican lawmakers or anybody else, McConnell said. He literally directed the statement to the justices, by name. And he said, quote, if you go forward with these awful decisions, which could only apply to the court itself. The minority leader of the United States Senate threatened two associate justices of the U.S. Supreme Court. Period.
No matter the intention, words carrying the apparent threat of violence can have horrific unintended violence, McConnell later added.
After McConnells statement, Schumer spoke on the Senate floor and refused to apologize.

The Senate was expected to vote today on a motion to censure Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for what pro-life Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri says are disgusting, shameful, and frankly, WEAK threats agaisnt the Supreme Court justices.
I would call on Schumer to apologize, but we all know he has no shame, Hawley tweeted late Wednesday. So tomorrow I will introduce a motion to censure Schumer for his pathetic attempt at intimidation.
Schumer threatened Trump-nominated Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh Wednesday, telling them they will pay the price if they uphold a pro-life law from Louisiana that saves babies from abortion and protects womens health.

After a deluge of criticism and Chief Justice John Roberts rebuking his dangerous comments, Schumer refused to apologize.

Schumers comments were a reference to the political price Senate Republicans will pay for putting these justices on the court, and a warning that the justices will unleash a major grassroots movement on the issue of reproductive rights against the decision.
But the comment specifically referred to the justices, not Senate Republicans.
Responding to the tirade, pro-life Sen. Ben Sasse tore into Schumer.

The timing is suspect. The obvious: Roe v Wade going down, dont count on it. Kennedy held out in the Partial birth case, Roe came close to being partially reversed in that case. RBG stood after the ruling and issued her clarion call that Roe was under seige.
