I and others once watched in horror as a school bus driver ran over a dog.
There was no way he could have missed seeing the dog. It was half a block in front of him. He never slowed down. I can only surmise he believed the dog would run out of the way but didn't. The yelp was chilling.
As for this young girl, this is a horrible end. I hope the parents can find peace.
Looking at Londonderry Lane, Cayce, SC, there are lots of trees and shrubbery around many homes, and then some thick woods around the edge of the devopment and several industrial buildings and parking lots nearby.
Many places for someone to be out of sight or hidden.

Could be most anything. There is some of everything in the area: homes, woods, open areas, schools, ball fields, industrial sites, many large buildings, an airport, on and on.

Yep. LEO say that when they have a high degree of confidence that the perp is “neutralized”, they just need their detectives to complete the investigation before making a final report.
