People in general today are weird with so much in tumult in the West
Tight with their money while virtue signaling how much they care for people and have compassion for the downtrodden, the poor, the homeless, etc, ad nauseum.
I’ve been in uber progressive cities actually giving money to people I felt the Lord wanted me to help, when all the while hundreds of easy to spot lefties just pass by.
And they won’t talk to anyone. They just state straight ahead. You can’t pry them to talk.
The fact is, Slate Star Codex is an intellectual blog run by a self-avowed left-leaning psychiatrist, Scott Alexander. He has written some good pieces, most notably his 2014 piece on tribalism where he effectively calls out his fellow leftists for being hypocritical when it comes to tolerance. (If you have an hour, I'd recommend reading it.)
As such, it is extremely likely that affinity bias will result in mentally-diagnosed leftists being overly-represented in this biased survey. Furthermore, it is extremely likely that right-leaning folks won't even know this blog exists, leadng to conservatives likely being underrepresented. Finally, most normal people (and especially conservatives) don't respond to polls, let alone ones where they VOLUNTARILY reveal their DSM-5 diagnosis (if they have one).
Yes, the reporter notes "the survey is by no means scientific". But I expect sensational reporting on the left, not our side.
I have never met a happy liberal. They are full of angst, they lack joy, They are miserable in body, mind, and soul..
Really, I pity them.
