Just saw the WWI movie “1917” and thought it was very well done and worth the watch.

I am convinced Joe Biden wrote Joaquin Phoenix’s speech.

Short on remakes. Even Little women is a new approach.

Even Joker is not derivative of the Batman Movies., Creative approach entirely different.

The Irishman tells a new story about organized crime and mostly non-fiction.

The Korean film totally original to US markets. On so on and so forth.

I see a lot of remakes and sequels, but there are enough new things to please most movie fans.

PARASITE is not about the evils of capitalism. It’s about the evils of those who hate it and destroy others to get at their $$$.

Bernie Sanders could have coached the parasites.

Joker was not bad but if it was meant to send a message, it failed miserably. It showed very specifically what liberalism is as it promoted hate for the “rich” and how liberal government is simply human decay and rot.

Hollywood is now so “woke” that they can’t even give Best Film to an American movie. The very idea of Amercan exceptionalism MUST be rejected!
Boy, I bet Quentin Tarantino is pissed!

I wonder how many people in this country heard of the winning movie “Parasite,” let alone went to see it? I never heard of it before. Of the 9 nominated pictures I had only heard about 5 of them and the only one I deemed worth seeing is “1917.”

[[It’s considered a “smart” picture about the evils of capitalism.]]

So lemme guess- the film makers did the film for free, right? And film goers don’t have to pay to see it, right?

you could deduce the story of Ford VS and Little Women.

Also Parasite just started buzzing at Christmas time. Don’t know when it was released.

My son likes Korean movies mostly mystery and thrillers. He has referred me to some which were entertaining. Some remade as American films.

When the big releases hit at Christmas, it is to qualify for that year’s oscars. But many if them play LA and NY and then try to ride the notoriety of the oscar season.

To be fair, Tarantino has always been big cult admirer of Korean filmmakers and has participated in their festivals.

From 2013:
“Korean director Bong Joon Ho is like Spielberg in his prime” says Quentin Tarantino
