Kobe Bryant plays Moonlight Sonata.
He taught himself this to show to his wife.
A tribute to a legend, a union of sports and music in one man.
Director : Brandon Nicholas
DP: Zach Voytas
Featuring: The Luring Quartet
Winner of a 2014 Bronze Telly Award
We had a very narrow window of time to shoot this promotional piece with Kobe. He arrived in the conference room at the Graves 106 Hotel in MN at 6:45pm and 20 minutes later he was gone.

Yes.
As an aside, Kobe Bryant grew up in Italy. So yes, he speaks Italian.
Watch this brief interview ( In Italian ):

In fact, Kobe’s first love was soccer.
I’m Hip, or is it hep, to Kobe’s upbringing. He also spoke Spanish and was one of the most articulate athletes in English. Actually spoke in complete sentences without many cliches. Example, no “We Came To Play.” We gave it 120%.” “Moving forward we need to go to the hoop more.”
Buenos Dias, Bon Dia, Have a good one.

Didn’t sound very presto or agitato. More like lento e calmo.
Ha. The woman playing on the you tube link was definitely presto agitato
Lost in the discussion: The mother of three small children who was an assistant basketball coach leaves her husband to raise them and explain to them why mama is never coming home again; The husband college coach, wife and child who leave behind two orphans at home and two others on board as well. Every life is important to someone. God bless their families, I pray they can find relief and comfort somewhere.
Everyone seems to be laying it on really thick for Kobe. I never was a fan, especially after he got away scot free after what he did. Dont mention the money because he had plenty.
That was nice. Thank you. RIP, Kobe.
OMG AMAZING I have never seen anyone play the piano like that up close, her hand were moving so fast and to have that entire piece memorized!!! OMG!!!
RE: I never was a fan, especially after he got away scot free after what he did
I certainly hope one mistake in life when one was young and foolish does not totally define what the person has done since to redeem himself, especially when he compensated and apologized to the victim and worked hard to make his marriage whole again.
Im not going to beat my breast and weep like some great hero has passed. Its the disproportionate amount of honor that Kobe is receiving that is galling. But then we live in an increasingly distopian world.
Her name is Valentina Lisitsa. She will often play at a railroad station or public piano unannounced, sometimes wearing an army jacket and blue jeans. She just sits down and wows the crowd. Check out her videos on YouTube.

I agree with you. He was ONLY a great basketball player. My issue is this — we should not let ONE MISTAKE taint the achievement of a person. His life and legacy should be judged IN TOTO (as a whole ), including charities, as a father to his children and husband to his wife, influence on others ( here and abroad ), etc.
Agree with both sentiments.
