While I too found him less palatable prior, this is still a tragedy and no one deserves this. Praying we hear his children weren’t aboard. As a non fan I’m surprised at how sad I find myself. Doesn’t help that we drive by there very often. RIP. He was a basketball legend.

I also am surprised at how sad I find myself. A father and his daughter dying together...What a frightening thought...

I was never a big Lakers fan.
But, I do read sports section. I have read articles about him. I sometimes watched his games...I watched the Gold Medal game in Beijing Olympics when he was on Team USA.

I did read a LA TIMES article about Lebron James becoming a Laker legend...Kobe had no problem with James becoming a Laker legend. He did not sound annoyed about attention Lebron James was getting...He sounded excited about how well Lebron was playing...

People showed up at Staples Center to show their sadness at Kobe’s death...

Lakers are playing Clippers on Tueday night...At Staples Center...I may actually try to watch the game on TNT. I am curious about how Lakers will pay tribute to Kobe. I checked the Vividseats.com and cheapest ticket cost $453.

Turns out they just can’t play yet.

This city is all in mourning. I’m seeing laker flags on cars. People wearing jerseys. This has hit so hard. Even for me and you, non fans. So sad and we just can’t believe it. Today I am feeling like I could change the outcome if I wish hard enough. I could just go back in time and tell that pilot to set it down in Van Nuys and call them an suv and driver for the trip.

It doesn’t help that we drove past the crash site yesterday on the way home from the beach. There was a vantage point where people were going up with flowers and memorabilia so we got out to look. You could see the triangle of earth with all the debris dotted about. Sounds ghoulish but no one was like that. Calabasas was in mourning. Everyone was respectful and quiet.
