Kobe Bryant died in a helicoper crash in Calabasas Sunday morning ... TMZ Sports has confirmed.
Kobe was traveling with at least 3 other people in his private helicopter when it went down. A fire broke out. Emergency personnel responded, but nobody on board survived. 5 people are confirmed dead. We're told Vanessa Bryant was not among those on board.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.

I used to work in Agoura Hills, and some mornings the drive from Simi Valley to the office was terrifying because of the pea soup. It’s amazing that someone would even consider flying that route.

While I too found him less palatable prior, this is still a tragedy and no one deserves this. Praying we hear his children weren’t aboard. As a non fan I’m surprised at how sad I find myself. Doesn’t help that we drive by there very often. RIP. He was a basketball legend.

Well, it was a twin turbine engine helo. Not sure what he means by sputter. Turbines turn high rpms, so ‘sputter’ seems to be a poor description of an engine failure in that case. But that’s just my inexperienced observation.
Maybe it flew into a flock of birds that knocked out the engines. Birds don’t seem to mind flying in fog. I’ve heard geese fly over me on a foggy day.

My school day commute is very similar and while I hate traffic, it’s not that bad. Heli is really overkill (no pun intended). I’m so sorry he didn’t just drive her there. This is just —- horrible—— no words.

My brother, a big basketball fan, said the reason that Kobe and Shaq fell out of friendship was because Kobe said he should have just paid the woman a million dollars and told her to keep her mouth shut, like that other guy does.
